Put him in a room with surviving family members. They are really the ones who should be sentencing him. They want to forgive and forget? Their call. They want to feast on his organs while he watches? I wouldn't be comfortable judging them.

To me, the crime is irrelevant to the question of the morality of giving the state the authority to carry out a death sentence. What he did is deplorable, but when the state kills an innocent person it's unforgivable and if you support the state killing Roof, you must accept some innocents will also be killed using the same process

Utah was the last state to use the firing squad, largely to satisfy the mormon requirement for "blood atonement", meaning that blood must be spilled on the ground to atone for certain sins.

I too am not a supporter of the death penalty nor do I advocate torture but in this case the prick deserves it however it should be a horrible execution like peeling off all of his skin layer by layer and use drugs to keep him from lapsing into sleep from the pain then dip that prick in boiling oil.
