So your suggesting I place a cup lightly over the soil where the seed is and keep my light on on top of it?I still had it under the lights even before it broke through

Yes but make sure it's an opaque cup so it lets a little light through, not too much. I used a Starbucks iced coffee cup and a 2 liter sprite bottle cut in half. Left those on until the leaves touch the side of the cup, once they're too big for the cup, that's when you start your week 1 of true veg.So your suggesting I place a cup lightly over the soil where the seed is and keep my light on on top of it?
Here are some pics I just took of my three that I planted a few days ago, you don't have to spend a whole lot of money , right now I'm just using plastic trays for planters,($0.78each at Walmart) works till they're too tall then I switch to the cups.So your suggesting I place a cup lightly over the soil where the seed is and keep my light on on top of it?
And this is all I have completely nothing ...I'm going to install my cfl light tomorrow hopefully that will get it up and runningHere are some pics I just took of my three that I planted a few days ago, you don't have to spend a whole lot of money , right now I'm just using plastic trays for planters,($0.78each at Walmart) works till they're too tall then I switch to the cups.View attachment 3885429View attachment 3885430 View attachment 3885431
I think it's giving me a thumbs up, The leaves were stuck together so I took off the seed shell now its sticking straight upView attachment 3885432 View attachment 3885433
The last one, which is Juan herer , is a little slower than the other two but it's still moving, I haven't done anything to them since I put them in the rapid rooter besides add a little ph'd water and some ryzofuel(Cyco nutes). I just set them then forget them, well I look at them maybe once or twice a day but I don't mess with them too much.
Here is also a pic of my week 3 veg girls and how I have my seedlings in the tent they're down in the bottom further from the light but still under it with no probs. View attachment 3885434
And finally here are my week 5's(in the flowering tent to get a little bigger before the switch) after much trial and error(first time dwc) beautifully wide and bushy.

A little advice though from one beginner to another, always plant double what you expect, even if they're fems, autos doesn't matter. Thankfully I only lost one plant but still back ups are a must. (I have 8 plants in different stages just in case) Hope this helps.
That soil looks kinda dense to me, maybe the little seedling isn't strong enough to push through. If you remember where it is, try digging it out a little. And warmth is your #1 friend at this point, my seeds were at around 80 the first few days then around 75 after they've established a few nodes and some roots, they're pretty resilientAnd this is all I have completely nothing ...I'm going to install my cfl light tomorrow hopefully that will get it up and running
Great pictures btw thank you !
Yes I remember exactly where it is ..I'll open up the soil a bit and maybe leave the seed like showing ..I'll do it hen take a picture ..thanks btw you've been a great help !That soil looks kinda dense to me, maybe the little seedling isn't strong enough to push through. Thanks that's what I did ... Im gerimatinglês a new new York diesel seed I know a lot of people discriminate mirical grow but I'm going to use it as before I was using a rubbish soil .. I want to try it out and I'm gonna do water only ..as soon as it germinated I'm going to put it in soil under my lights and cover the pot with cling to keep it humid. .. could you take a picture if how my seed should be placed ? Idk if I should cover it up with soil or just leave it open ..
After i germinate a put in soil should I put it under my light then yea ?I use rapid rooters, so there's a little hole, I pinch a little off and very lightly cover the hole. So cover it with like just a pinch of dirt, not too much.
the seed needs warmth and moisture to germinate. not light. I'd make a small hole and plop it back in. don't try to direct the root towards the bottom. its not necessary. cover it with a plastic dome or something to keep in humidity. give it about 4 or 5 days and it'll come up.After i germinate a put in soil should I put it under my light then yea ?
This is what I done ..transparent water bottle in the seed are o cut it to be wide of course and I delicately placed cling over it ... seems good ?the seed needs warmth and moisture to germinate. not light. Hey could you check out the image I just uploaded and tell me if it looks good ?I use rapid rooters, so there's a little hole, I pinch a little off and very lightly cover the hole. So cover it with like just a pinch of dirt, not too much.
Urban Legend? Plants breath through their roots. Not their top growth. The plastic will keep in humidity until the seed pops, then it can be removed. What's wrong with that? Some urban legends just won't die. Remove all the plastic! Let the poor thing breathe.
Don't create a stagnant environment that encourages mold. You want to keep it warm, like at least 70 to 75 degrees F, but you don't want to cut off airflow.
I like it, and once u see green u can throw out the cover. This is what I done ..transparent water bottle in the seed are o cut it to be wide of course and I delicately placed cling over it ... seems good ?

I didn't read carefully enuf before posting previously. Plastic bottles and Saran Wrap aren't the worst thing you could do to a seed that hasn't broken cover yet, but get that stuff outta there when it breaks out. Just like you said.
I agree with Lithefrog. That is some nasty, dense-looking dirt. I bought a small bag of starter soil a coupla years ago. It's very fluffy. Looks like lots of peat. Have to be careful adding water because the dirt moves around so much I was afraid the seed would float to the top.
