In the museum of natural history in NYC the same quote is on the entrance, but it states "Kenyan Proverb".
Wise people don't allow themselves to be slaughtered, stolen from and marginalized. Naive people do.

Different problem from people-caused climate change. Lumping the plastic trash problem with climate change is not useful. The causes are different and the solutions are too.
The funny thing is, your article doesn't claim anybody was scamming. Don't you read the links you post?
The concept of recycling is the scam.

The subject was climate change until you diverted it. The two issues are are not at all equivalent. The article you posted contained no reference to a scam.
There is a warm water event offshore along the PNW that has persisted for about four years. It's causing havoc with wildlife. Especially salmon and shore birds both of whom depend on cold-water krill that are at the base of the food chain. Red-tides have shut down the crab and shellfish season too.
