Budmaster cobx4 grow in 3x3 veg, possibly flowering under the same light n tent

I just bought mine for 2 major reasons. They give off white light, which I prefer growing my plants under. Also they don't use much electricity.

I have recently used 315w cmh. I found the daylight lamp's spectrum to be better than the agro lamp's spectrum. I think the plants get more energy from daylight spectrums, than they do from lights with loads of red in.

If I did a side by side, I reckon I'd yield more with the cmh daylight lamp, than I would with the 'so called' flowering lamp.

Anyway, the Budmaster cob spectrum does appeal to me.
CMH spectrum is much more full than COB spectrum, LEDs do not have full spectrum no matter what(that's why that spectrum chart for this light is a targeted spectrum), even white LEDs are colored LEDs that are coated with phosphor to make them appear to be full spectrum when they are not. Just read this article if you don't believe me about LEDs never having a proper spectrum

Leds are light emitting diodes, cobs are chip on board here's a quote from the site
"
In our new design a cluster of 12 Osram Surface Mounted COB provide higher output than a traditional 50w COB whilst giving a Tri-Mix of colour temperatures to provide an output spectrum closer to the sunlight than a traditional COB.

The immediate benefits are:

  1. The spectral output is closer to sunlight by mixing colour temperatures within the array than using any larger single cobs.
  2. Greater efficiency in the same small footprint, more light out for the same power in. The total output exceeds that of normal 50w COB.
  3. COBS Mounted with the same solder pad technology as the Osram SSL80 family to a triple layer MCPCB, meaning a longer lifespan and faster build.
  4. Better thermal management due to the mounting technology it eliminates any possibility of thermal spikes."
  5. So ur source is for leds not cobs that literally come close to replicating sunlight

I actually grew with cfls cheap leds 400w mg n 600w overdrive at the end and my yield definitely improved n I was super impressed with the light penetration so if u get em trust me hang em from the frame I was getting some mad light burn

Not to mention those bulbs par greatly diminishes over a short period, yeah you'll have lumens but very little par where as these cobs have a 1% yearly light deprecation amd it's all got a 1-5 YR warranty it says it on the site they send u the part for free n plug n play amd perfect temps

I built my own 9 cob fixture, it runs about 660w, used citizen clu058s, it covers half my 2.4mx1.2m tent. I used to use 1800w of hps across the whole tent. I'm about 4 weeks into flower for the first run using the cobs, so I was interested to hear a fellow brits opinions.
Those budmasters look pretty damn good! Seem to have a good spectrum too.
So far I'm not seeing any bleaching on my girls, I have it only about 8" above top colas, canopy is pretty even but dense. I don't normally defoliate and although I'm tempted to pluck a few I think I'm going to leave them as they are so I can see how well they penetrate. There's plenty of air movement so hoping light should get down to lower buds. Plants are only 2.5ft high.

Haha Ive waffled right on!!

You literally just made my point for me, even in your own words it says " Tri-Mix of colors to provide an output of spectrum closer to the sun".....which means it's a bunch of different color LEDs mounted to a surface to try to imitate white light. There is a HUGE different between that and real white light.

I put it in bold so you can read your own words better. COB spectrum is not a white light spectrum, it's an imitated spectrum with either a bunch of other colors trying to make white light or a phosphor coated diode.

All a COB is a bunch of little tiny LEDs on a surface....that's why they call it chip on board....all the chips are on a single board.

One tell tale sign these are not like a HID bulb type light is the fact that LEDs make literally zero UV light like the sun does, so they are not like sunlight at all.

I want and welcome anyone's opinion especially pics of their setup n help noobs out.i don't want arguments but a good debate is welcome and this is the cob site of the net so any noobs wanting help with par as opposed to lumens we can't everything or one may of been misinformation so that's where a debate would take place...just had a near blunt of keif

I haven't uploaded any pics for a while Moflow, I was on the uk thread reading and folks were talking about someone posting pic and their location been available to view or something along those lines. If someone can tell me a good way to upload images that's safe so folks cant take any important info from them then I will certainly upload some. At the moment the only camera I have is ipad, was thinking I could screenshot some photos and upload them, but I'm just not sure how these things work and what sort of info someone can extract from a pic.
Will happily take suggestions as to how I can do it and be safe. (its not the law I'm bothered about, its the cunts). Been dying to post pics of my build, even if it is no frills.

You were reading my post dumbass, once u scrub ur pic using a metadata eraser,,run ur pic through it and ur safe.
I never saw that guy again,I've done it to a few pm their houses but always delete

But speaking from a €€€ perspective (I pay 18c per kwh) lights I can attest (not sure till this grows over for comparative reasons and I wanna lollypop n shit. Who gives a fuck about UV anyways I want par n drop some photon bombs.

No worries.
I was just interested in comparing how your plants looked like to my cxbs und slittygen setup lol.
