Your commute to work- assuming you do- emits more CO2 than your whole family will in months- and that doesn't count the production multiple, that is, the amount of fossil fuel burned in the process of extracting, refining and transporting that tank of gas to the station. That multiple is going up over time as the easily accessible fields are played out, forcing the use of harder to get at reserves.
