The Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, both houses and the majority of reps in the House of Representatives in DC are Republican. All of those positions were filled by people who voted for Republicans. The Governor has filled appointed seats with Republicans. Michigan is firmly under the control of Republicans. The last 6 presidential elections (up until Trump) went for the dem candidate. I would not call that a firm conservative state, no.
Two senators from MI are Democrats. So, not all elected officials are Republican but damn man, Michigan votes for a lot of them.
To bolster your case, you cite Obama. Also past elections where Democrats were elected as if that were relevant today.
OK, so maybe Michigan isn't 2/3 GOP. 60%, then. Is that OK?
If the state isn't lost to right wing dementia then it's on it's way. Maybe some people should stop whining about people posting the obvious and start doing something to change the trend. Michigan is controlled by Republicans and the next redistricting is in 2020. They will be locked into power for the foreseeable future if they have their way.
