One of the real tragedies of this storm happened years ago when texas decided that regulation and inspection of chemical plants was best left to plant operators. There is an untold story of pollution and hazmat exposure throughout the region.

A lot of structures will be uninhabitable due to chemical exposure, and groundwater will be toxic for years.

All because it was too much of a burden to regulate an industry that has shown it can't be trusted.

Indeed, the chemical refineries deliberately release their most highly regulated toxic materials during floods like these, because 'emergency'.

An Al Jazeera reporter got cut off on MSNBC recently got daring to mention it on a live feed. Can't have truth on the news, you know!

We had a foot of rain here in Austin, power was out for 48 hours. Didn't fuck too much up but I had to close my restaurant and use the grocery store across the street's refrigerators to store my shit. Sucked ass but nothing compared to what happened south of us

No they never lost power. We did on our entire side of the street but they were fine. I begged them and they were cool with it. Took like 5 hours of loading/unloading but it was better than throwing out all that stuff
