The whole hot spot thing is mostly myth.

The best reflectors are made of hammer tone aluminum. Basically wrinkled aluminum.

It might be possible with 1000 watt de but I doubt it.

That's something that just gets repeated.
The textured aluminum is designed to disperse light evenly without a mirror like focus.

Wrinkles are very different than the texture. They ruin the even dispersion of light.

Maybe hot spots is a bad description. It is direct focus on spots that is happening from the wrinkle rather than the reflective surface working properly.

I've never seen one person post anything proving this theory. Just repeat it.

I've used crumpled, wrinkled Mylar and foil. Never been an issue.

If you look for info you will see many have put light meter readings out for reflective surfaces. Mylar loses its properties very quickly from wrinkles and dirt.

As far as posts go. Proof of just about every silly argument here is published in books already.

The new uv info was proven in the 80's by ed rosenthal for example.

Ok. Not talking about uv.

Show me the proof. You made the claim.

It doesn't great hot spots. I never said anything about wrinkles and loss of reflectivity.

No bob made the claim that it works better wrinkled and creates hot spots smooth. I disagreed.

And I already explained when they say hot spots they mean areas where the light is not diffused properly.

But you are arguing just to argue. I wasn't even commenting to you. You want to chime in you show proof.

I have already searched and read all of this stuff and trust my memory.

If you want to hang wrinkled foil like bob go right ahead. I'm sure it will work great for you.

Flat reflective surfaces act like a mirror, reflecting the light beam pretty much straight. I prefer diffuse reflection. I don't care if hotspot was the right terminology, I got more burning with flat than not flat.Maybe it reflects less light or makes it less intense, just don't care. It works better for me so I use it. Also don't care what other people do. I don't get paid to promote crinkled mylar. I said I do it myself, because people could see in the pic that it was crinkled, so I explained why it looked like that. I'm not trying to prove that it's better scientifically. It's just what I personally like to do. Is that acceptable to you or do I have to leave it flat? And I know you really used crappy bagged soil and Acme nutes, so don't bother trying to backpedal.

You have to leave it flat of course :-)

Oh god. Why all the fucking fighting? If bob deems wrinkly works better who the fuck cares lol. I get the dissapointment with all the "it's great, best strain ever" thing. I'm maybe a tad picky but I find most "popular" strains lacking but the DF OG has my attention ;).

Crinkling mylar emergency blankets might just be the biggest advancement in indoor growing, or not, who cares really? Ima keep on crinklin, that's all I know. Anyway, we shall soon see if the DF OG is good or not, because I can judge strains objectively and I will give you the straight skinny. Here are some past findings; Blue Pyramid; sucks, White Cookies; sucks, Orange Hill Special; sucks, Bubble Bomb; sucks, WoS NL x Big Bud; sucks. That's just a small sampling of weed that sucks.

Head band (HSO); sucks, Critical Kush (barneys); sucks, God bud (VSC); sucks, Oh zone (DGT); sucks, I'm probably being a bit harsh with the sucks though as most would probably be happy and from reviews it seems they are lol. Just about to decide the next one so here I am. And yup crinkly Mylar may be the next gotta have thing lol.

My point is there is no ill effect from wrinkled foil or Mylar.

I don't use either one.

I use flat titanium white paint.

Interesting, titanium paint. Actually mylar is much more reflective though. I saw a video where they compared.

Thanks for the sucky weed list. Yeah God Bud does suck pretty bad. Forgot that one. Smelled nice, just couldn't get high off it. Probably anything Critical sucks. Never tried Headband, guess I was lucky.
