Well we made it safely back to our home port, taking a newly purchased used craft on a 168 NMi took us 17 hrs. Slept on board on Fri. before we shoved off at around noon, then slept anchored off the ICW Sat. night. We got up early Sunday to to complete the run to home port.
Minor problem, when we started on our way on Sat. there seemed to be a vibration that was not there on Friday. My son went into the engine compartment and found the three of the 4 bolts attaching the transmission to the drive shaft where missing and the one that remained was being held by about three threads. That was a catastrophe avoided, and other than the nasty weather we faced all day Saturday, rain, cold north wind the rest of the trip was great. My son and I both got drenched Saturday, so those big bowls and the Bullet bourbon helped to make thing bearable.
Few pics from the trip.
My son doing Leonardo's part in the Titanic.
Granddaughter watching the Dolphins .
At the fuel dock, the family with about 6 others mingling around asking about the boat, they all were very interested. My son in this pic is talking to 4 folks giving them the full rundown on the boat.
As we are pulling into our final destination, the bay was so very smooth and calm.
