I figured we needed a thread to make fun of the idiots who support or invest in LP's. Buncha back stabbing assholes who don't mind buying/working for their lords and masters. Remember their masters? The ones who wanted to put us in their cages and harpers zoo's. Ya these same assholes now have a fan club of goofs and jerks who think the whole idea is just peachy. Folks with no conscious or backbone to speak back to those who'd oppress them with poison ridden schwaggs.
Anyway I figured we needed some humor around here so post your best LP supporter idiot pics here.
As most of us feel........

Yeah hippy, unfortunately I know a lot of non-toking oil patch workers that are risking a few grand each on these stocks. I try talking sense into them and they stare at me like I have two heads. They don't believe me that these LP's are going to fail because their stock values are overinflated. They are watching the numbers go up during the countdown to legalization and are planning to get rich at some point and I am shaking my head.

YES SOME WILL GET RICH off of greed but will FAIL just as quick! ;)
anyone here invest in oilsands 20 years back? :blsmoke:

I REST MY CASE!

"In spite of the company producing a quality poison product that customers will not want, the valuation that investors are paying is simply outrageous. Canopy has yet to show a sustainable profit alongside positive cash flow from operations. Essentially, investors are buying shares in the hopes that the huge demand from consumers will be enough to substantiate the valuation currently being paid."
sure they are

I have found most people want to invest to make money. I have no problem with making money, legal or otherwise. So I try to make them feel guilty instead by pointing out they are investing their money in a company that is willing to MAKE A PROFIT OFF THE BACKS OF SICK PEOPLE!

Oh I hear you, but like I said, most of these guys are non tokers, so their way of thinking is med patients are just stoners, abusing the health care system. They don't know people who have fought cancer with honey oil, they paint every stoner with the same brush. This is why I don't think I can make any of them feel guilty about profiteering off sick people. Instead I just tell them to expect to loose their investment by September. Sad part is, most of them say, I wouldn't risk more money than I can afford to loose. With investors like these guys, even if the LP's loose, they still win.

And if that doesn't happen at the very least people panic and sell off shares en masse leaving the company right where they belong, utterly fucked
I hope it goes like this, but sadly I think the small investors will lose and the tax payers will pay for some of the bail outs.>:(

There is a point to draw the line in the sand...
No damn way they get bailed out......these are private companies....who employ practically no one....and would use all robots if they could...

you see when your costs are $1.15 per gram and you sell at $12.50/gram....the profit margins are so high...(1000% plus) it should be called "gouging"
since that what it really is.

There is no leg to stand on when you operate at these margins. if they can not fund themselves then they close the doors..period.

Don't forget many politicians and cops are board members. Friends help friends get out of a bind.
End of the day its taxpayers money and we do get a say. Given how many fuck ups Trudeau has had(whoda thought putting a ski instructor/drama teacher in charge of a country would have these results) people have been overwhelmingly critical (as they should be) of the Liberals and their never ending poor judgements. The Omar Kahdr shitshow pissed off a majority of Canadians as 70%+ of them disagree with the choice.

End of the day you only get a say if you bother to vote, that leaves some out. Given how many fuck ups Harper had, voters kicked his ass out last election. Whoda thought putting a mail clerk with a fascination for fascism in charge of a country could have those results. The mandatory minimums and spying bills shit show pissed off a majority of Canadians as 90%+ disagreed with them.

Good thing I voted then eh? Lol So you were quite alright with the Harper Gov denouncing science and muzzling scientists?

I also don't disagree with any of your views on mandatory minimums or the spying bills. Seems you're a little too blinded to realize that by simply assuming that because a person believes or supports one idea theyre automatically labelled as X or Y in terms of political parties, when maybe they only agree with SOME of what a party has to offer, and some from another. Instead of simply asking........

So do you invest in any medical stocks? Drug Co's, medical device manufacturers, ambulatory services, hospitals.
Ever been to the dentist?
I notice, some people are ideologically blinded into
hypocritical retardation when it comes to this topic. Your post actually lends credence to that as you claim "no problem" with people making money, but you feel morally obligated to piously chastise them? That is quite the cognitively dissonant gait you have there, Minister Cleese.

With legalization it is permissible to be a capitalist. That doesn't mean one has to give them their money. One can also go against them using the same capitalist techniques they use.

Which is the angle of attack I prefer  If they want to dump their money into the "irrational exuberance", I'll be ready to take it back out when they aren't looking. IOW their losses are my gains (as detailed in the "Bubble" thread). Am I the bad guy, now? Go ahead and try to resolve that 3D-chessboard with your 2D-checkers tactics.

Of course, maybe some people like shouting at the crashing tides? It can be gleaned from physics that the decibels and spectrum of the ocean's waves will washout all of our voices combined, so about the only thing one can look forward to is being irrelevant in a THC-induced, collective catharsis. Either get on the battlefield proper, or GTFO & STFU.

Isn't that the point of cannabis condor? I believe he has already taken his own stance.
I don't know. I've never heard of it, which implies less than the majority have as well. (googlegoogle... Ahhh interesting and ...American?)
Does it reflect the laughably hypocritical point of this thread, though? No...
However,
if I misinterpreted zoic's point, then I stand to be corrected without hesitation.

I work with young people who are novice traders, too, and instead of chastising them I try to guide them in this time with wisdom from my past mistakes. If they make money on this hoopla, GREAT; that's the point in the first place. The morals are irrelevant. I certainly made money on it a couple years ago when the early rumblings began.

If they don't, then let the lesson be learned. Hopefully they don't make the mistake again. Or even better, maybe they start learning about how the derivative markets work, so they can use that tool to protect their investments going forward in life. Is that wrong? :?

Recognizing one's faults with greed--but more importantly, how to detach from it--is a part of the development process in becoming a (ZEN)master of one's personal finances. I regret to inform the Hippies, we still use commerce as a means of acquisition and will be doing so for the foreseeable decades to come. All the stuff we need doesn't just fall from the sky like manna in religious fairy-tales. Perhaps if the proponents of this thread checked their own greed, they'd see what is really the reason for their "stance"?

So again, I will state this "stance" as proposed by the thread is hypocritically absurd. I have cooperatively fought for 25 years putting my personal reputation on the line to see this degree of acceptance in Canada come to fruition. It's not everything I wanted, but I am not going to stand idly by and let some decrepit philosophy of cantankerous cunts and "can't-do commies" ruin all the work, regardless of the (non)efficacy of their efforts.
