AR-15 Fake News by Uncle Ted

I came across this video and wanted to fact check it after watching. Turns out, the Nuge, as usual is full of shit. But hell, this fake news is brought to you by the grunty, globalist-fighting goblin, Alex Jones. So no surprise.

Right off the bat it is obvious Nugent ignores the real argument for controlling AR-15's. That being, they can shoot as fast you can pull trigger and have a long range. He never mentions this and ducks and dodges while trying to compare it to a shotgun. Of course a shotgun will blow a bigger hole in someone at close range. That may be the only true statement in this video.
------

"The timing of every one of these shootings...if they were using a bird gun with buckshot they could have killed more people per shot fired then with any AR-15, because nobody's resisting."

Yeah, 'per shot fired' is the point. An AR-15 can shoot as fast as you can pull - 90 to 115 shots a minute. And comes with a 30 round magazine which you can upgrade to 100 rounds. Unlike a shotgun, two shells and reload. And the targets would have more chance to "resist" or run or attack the shooter if he had to reload. This is the whole point, why these AR-15's are used over and over in mass shootings.

"These are 3.5 magnum dbl. ought bucks. Each round shoots over 30 pellets. So, it's like every time I pull the trigger once with that round it's like 30 people shooting. Thirty bullets come out of there..... thirty rounds come out of this."

For a expert gun nut, Ted seems confused about the terminology. One shell is a round which contains 30 pellets in it. Pellets not bullets. And it's not 30 fucking rounds. That would be 30 shells. It's not 'like' 30 people shooting with one trigger pull. Wtf? I thought he never did drugs?

"So this is standard AR-15 that Eugene Stoner invented in the 1950's. It's a semi-automatic sporting rifle. It is not a weapon of war. No society would be so irresponsible to send heroes of the military into war with a semi-automatic weapon. It is not an assault rifle and it is not a weapon of war!"

The definition of an "assault rifle" is "A rapid fire, magazine-fed, automatic rifle designed for infantry use." So, while the AR-15 is semi-auto it is still rapid fire (as fast as you pull) and mag fed. And while it was engineered by Mr. Stoner (ha) in the 1950's, it is a weapon having been used by our military.
From Wikipedia: "In 1956, ArmaLite designed a lightweight assault rifle for military use and designated it the ArmaLite Rifle-15, or AR-15."

"Again, my sheriff buddy showed me his pen the other day and then if you wanted to.. it could be an assault pen...I could assault you with it."

Of course he's got a sheriff buddy. Wannabe LEO himself (look at the hat). Dumbfuck. Assault Rifle is terminology explaining a class of rifle. There is no such thing as an Assault Pen.

Anyway it goes on and on. Total shit. But look at the comments, the trumptards eat it up. Idiots.

I forgot to mention the range. A shotgun has a range up to 30 yards. AR-15 has a range of 600 yards. But he compares the two by the damage they can do at very close range only per shot.

I have semiauto and pump action shotguns . They can shoot more then 2 rounds fastly but can not compete with an ar15 in casualty power. Most army infantry carry rifles not shotguns for a reason. But shotguns do have there place.

And he only had one good song.

He should be out milking a reunion tour instead of worrying about that shit.

Tactical shotguns can hold 7-8 ammo. There are models that can even load more but no more than 20.

From Wikipedia: "In 1956, ArmaLite designed a lightweight assault rifle for military use and designated it the ArmaLite Rifle-15, or AR-15."
AR15 is a platform. There's 2 types. Fully automatic (which the military has which was designated as M16) and the Semi-Automatic for civilian or local law enforcement. The military don't use Semi-Auto.

I forgot to mention the range. A shotgun has a range up to 30 yards. AR-15 has a range of 600 yards. But he compares the two by the damage they can do at very close range only per shot.
30 yards that's 90 feet. Now imagine what is 90 feet. In a lot of cases of mass shooting...its close range...less than 90 feet.

Just pointing out

In the video he is comparing a "bird gun with buckshot" to an AR-15. The differences in range, round capacity, and shooting speed is huge!
All these mass shootings are not being done with a shotgun but an AR-15. I appreciate your points though as I was not aware some tactical shotguns can hold that much. I'm not a gun aficionado myself.

Still at 90 feet an AR-15 would be much more deadly than a shotgun, would it not? Considering the spread of a shotgun as well...

also this, initially, I don't want to post to this statement just to avoid any argument.

Semi- Auto is not an assault rifle...doesn't matter how fast you can pull the trigger...it's not an assault rifle simply because it has no "selective fire". That's why its legal to have 3MR trigger which makes semi-auto fire almost as fast as full auto. Only the military version has the selective fire capability.

It's the same exact thing as a semi auto 223 with a large clip same round same capacities same devastation in the wrong hands it's not the ar15s fault it's become a fad it's the mentally ill citizens that use them with mal intent that's the problem I think the way people like that are getting ahold of them needs to be figured out and something definitely needs to be done but crucifing the ar15 I don't think is gonna solve the issue at hand

Ok, good point. I wasn't aware that the initial AR15 for military use was selective to fully auto. I stand corrected on the terminology.

Shot guns with buck shot or slugs are deadly out to a 100 yards. Fill a short barrel one up with magnum buck shot loads and it would kill several people each shot fired.

I didn't watch the video nor do I like ted nugent.

Just saying if someone decided to use a shot gun it would cause a lot of damage. It doesn't require a lot of skill to shoot. On a long barrel it would hold a tight pattern and cut someone down.

The pellets in buck shot can be rather large. The size of your pinky nail. Slugs are the size of the end of your thumb.

00 buck in a 18 to 20 inch barrel would easily kill 2 or 3 people each shot at 20 or 30 yards easy.
