I love my ak as well but its a bit on the unbalanced side compared to an Ar

But it is ultra reliable and mine happens to be quite accurate

Explain what you mean by 'unbalanced' here?
Its a little muzzle heavy but thats to be expected as its much more beefy then an ar with a lot more steel.

But the muzzle heaviness helps when your shooting to keep muzzle rise .
So its kinda cancelled out.

There isnt enough muzzke rize to worry on ars so they can be a little lighter and not suffer as much muzzle flip :)

They blew up because the assault weapon ban expired.

They are decent. Many better choices. He'll even the military birches about them and only kept them around this long because of political and financial reasons.

A gas system is just not as reliable as other systems. The round is inadequate. The 5.56 or .223 is really a varmint round. A souped up .22 is all it is.

They became more popular as more calibers lime .300, .308, .458 and ..50 came out.

Ak'e and other similar designs are way better as far as knock down and reliability.

Sure an ar15 will run thousands of rounds with more upkeep and cleaning.
Yeah, they sure have more hype than they deserve. Gas operation works well on belt fed weapons but "sports" is going on often enough to make manual bolt action a less tedious affair. Besides that, it's nice to actually feel a round chambering properly when you push the bolt forward so that you know what will happen when you squeeze the trigger.

I grew up around guns and responsible gun owners.

I see no conflict with the above and bring pro gun control.

After all, neither group wants to have anything to do with irresponsible gun owners.
Agreed. I grew up with guns as well. My dad was a hunter and owned shotguns for this purpose, and a handgun or two for self defense. He always stressed having great respect and caution when handling a gun. He let me shoot a .22 rifle first and then a 20 gauge later and so on. I'm not for banning guns. But the AR-15 is exceptional by its design to other guns. It seems crazy to me that it is not more tightly regulated. My dad is old school, always owned guns, and even he agrees with this. I think most responsible gun owners are for common sense gun control. I mean, we can't even raise the age requirement for this gun? One day Trump was actually for it and then a few days later against, citing lack of political support. Because of the gun lobby of course.

Nothing wrong with a missile launcher in a decent persons hands either, I guess. The point of posting the video is that the argument that this gun is no different than any others, therefore no further restriction is necessary, is disingenuous.

Are there any gun nuts here who think the 2 A should include the ownership of tactical nukes, say up to 15 kt or would the NRA object to such a limitation on the grounds of infringing nutsrights and argue for strategic nukes?

Not really. I don't get people using an ar15. A shot gun would be better.

The speed of the ar 15 round that close reduces its effectiveness.

Just as you said. You aren't into guns. I think that's why the ar15 keeps being picked. Untrained users think its better for close range.
Surely you agree that the Las Vegas shooter could not have pulled off what he did with shotguns? I dont understand how the speed of an AR can make it less effective at close range - isnt it rather the spread of a shotgun blast and higher caliber that makes it more deadly close range? Even if a shotgun can range as far as 100 yards an AR is 6 times that. And you got one clip of 100 bullets as opposed to multiple shells to carry. Lightweight, accurate and deadly quick. I think the AR is being chosen by a precedent of past mass shootings proving it's the best choice for mass casualties in the quickest time. You know, before the cops show up.
