no it doesn't
Yes it does. Armalights first rifle was a small bolt action rifle. It was the ar-1. Armalight rifle-1. Then they started making small survival rifles. Armalight-7.

They then made an Armalight shotgun which was ar-?

Then they made the Armalight rifle-10 and 15.

The ar-30 is an amralight-30 which is a bolt action in different calibers.

Then the ar-50 which is a variant of the barret .50 cal. Armalight-50.

All those ar designations and only two were "assault rifles."

Sorry. No matter how much you want it to mean that it doesn't.

Just as I said. They make multiple guns that are not assault rifles and all have the "AR" designation.

Thanks for the backup Buck. You're a lil late though.

ha...'little known tidbits'
It stands for Armalight rifle. No matte how much anyone wants to twist it. AR means Armalight rifle. Armalight makes numerous designs that include .22, shot guns and bolt action that are labeled "ar".

That's just fact.

Now. That doesn't mean I think everyone should have one.

I have already stated I'm fine with gun control. Close gun show loops. Ban bump stocks. Allow money to go to the study of gun accident prevention. Roll the law back to prevent mentally handicapped people from having them. Move ar style weapons to class 3 or nfa item.

Maybe some kind of competence test to own them.

Bump the age up to 21.

Guns need to be locked up and secured.

The AR-15 was designed and intended to be used by military, though. Only difference with the civilian version is the full auto capability. Nuge tells a half-truth there.

And i quoted from wiki in my OP.
"In 1956, ArmaLite designed a lightweight assault rifle for military use and designated it the ArmaLite Rifle-15, or AR-15."

Just ignore fact then. Sorry you can't admit to being wrong. You can agree to the truth that it stands for Armalight rifle and still want to ban them.

How do you explain the other ar guns that aren't assault weapons?
lol...as usual UncleBuck just want to toy with you....nothing new...same political shit as always.

That's sort of true. They started with small .22 survival rifles for pilots. They were the ar-1 and so forth. They made several guns including shot guns before designing the ar-10. The military wanted a replacement for the m14. It wasn't until it was scaled down to the 5.56 that it became the ar-15.

The ar-15 is just a variant of a hunting rifle that holds more rounds. Limit the magazine and its no different than my old Remington .243 that takes a 4 round magazine.

Here is the .243 with the factory 4 round mag. Also the ar mag just as a visual aid. If I were to change the grips and put a larger mag in it it would be almost an ar.

Yeah! It's right there. The A = assault & the R = rifle. Thanks Buck
No. I showed the history of the Armalight rifles. Only two ar guns out of about ten ar an assault weapon.
