Can you guys give me some feedback on my bud?

Hey Guys,

Can you give me some feedback on my 1st grow? This was the last plant I chopped. The cola's were huge, the size of my forearm and the bud seems to be quite dense as well. It all seems pretty good.

I was actually going to drop my 2 x Spectrum King SK400+ and replace with 4 x 320W XL QB V2s from HLG. I have OCD about growing and want the best possible setup. Do you think I'd get much better doing this?

Thanks,
JF.

We would love to hear your setup specifics...those colas are huge...what strain?

Sure man, this was my first official grow. Unfortunately my seeds didn't arrive in time (Northern Lights Fem) so my friend lent me some autos (which were a bad idea as I couldn't control when they would flower and they all went at very different times) This strain was called Royal Critical. I will never use autos again.

I grew 8 plants in a alienware XL flood and drain system using hydroton. The grow was done in a controlled environment using 2 x 18K BTU Aircon + 2 x Dehumidifiers (I like two use 2 of everything, 1 as a backup) The hydro system used 2 x Bluelab pH dosers (one for up, one for down) and Bluelap guardian monitor. I used 2 x water chillers (in parallel, again, 1 for backup) to keep the water temp at 18 degrees C. This was done in a secret jardin 240w tent. The room this was done in was completely sealed and I used C02.

I vegged the plants running C02 at 1200ppm, RH was at 70% and canopy temp at 30 degrees C. Maximum EC for the whole grow peaked at 0.8EC during stretch then reduced down to 0.3EC for final few weeks of flower, I then gave them 6 days of RO pH balanced at the end with 3 days of darkness before chop.

After stretch I started reducing both C02, RH and temperature week by week, by the final month of flower C02 was at 350ppm, temp was 21 degrees C and RH 40%.

I think I did everything right, I gathered a lot of valuable information from these forums and I'm happy with the results from this last plant. I can't wait to do the next grow with the northern lights seeds, I'll flower them when they're very small plants, so I don't end up with a messy jungle like I did with this grow.

I'm also thinking about changing the lights to 4 x 320W XL QB V2's from HLG.

That is very impressive. I like the way you went straight for the best possible setup and obviously it rendered you some amazing results. One thing is for sure when you invest in the right setup your harvest will reward you.

Thank you, I have OCD, I want everything to be perfect. This grow room is also an hour's drive from my house so I have tried to automate it completely. I also have cameras monitoring the whole grow, it works well, I only need to visit maybe once a week to adjust the nutrient mixture. :)

I just watched some operation and setup vids on those alien systems...they seem legit.

Watch out for bud rot with big buds like that might want to spread the buds out as much as you can to get air in there.

Those wires are a mess and hanging your buds off of them are driving me nuts and the panel on the breaker box. Ill give you the breaker box though I dont have one on mine but the wires

Thanks Buddy, will keep an eye on the buds. The room is RH controlled as well. I promise I will tidy up those cables before I start my next grow. :)

looks good. Don't forget the smoke report:peace:
The smoke report is what matters. People only insist on tight nuggets to justify the cost of energy intensive indoor grows utilizing air conditioning and artificial lighting. It's fucking ass backwards to buy tight nuggets and then throw them in a grinder to loosen them up before being smoked. The plant knows what it is doing, if it needs to fluff up and breathe, let it breathe.

Hey guys, why is it when the bud dries out it looks like whispy crap... very disappointed with it to be honest. It's curing now, will smoke it in 4-6 weeks and report back.

Anyway, I've decided to make sure I'm using the best light possible, I've just ordered 2 x HLG 550 V2's. Yeah baby!
