Then how would you get anything you use? You wouldn't even have the house you live in if the lumber or concrete wasn't brought by a truckTruck drivers should refuse to carry anything that isn't for their own families.

He cut all his lumber with a bucksaw and hauled it with a horse and buggy ...soil and water make concrete ...LOLThen how would you get anything you use? You wouldn't even have the house you live in if the lumber or concrete wasn't brought by a truck
You're joking right? It's not easy making money in the commodities markets. You can't be stupid and do well but you don't have to be smart either. Same goes with industries that don't require much knowledge like trucking. Those trades are important and no disrespect to people who are working in them. Still, the US economy isn't going to grow through expanding trucking, corn and soybean production. Or more fracking, for that matter.
I meant to say (and still do) is: its not easy to make money in industries that don't require much education like trucking. You can't be stupid and be a trucker but you don't have to be really smart. It's still an important industry but the growth of the US economy isn't going to happen in trucking. You're joking right?
That's right. Just look around you, everything you see was on a truck at one time or another. Truck drivers could bring this country to its knees in a matter of days if they all just turned the key to the left. Farmers could do the same thing. Then how would you get anything you use? You wouldn't even have the house you live in if the lumber or concrete wasn't brought by a truck
I'll disagree, people need to feel good about themselves and having/owning nice quality jewelry makes people feel goodI'm a master jeweler- my product is a luxury item no one really needs
I think about that sometimes
Bingo! Not to mention the long hours in both fields that would kick most folks asses in a matter of days. From my perspective, I can tell you with 100% confidence, it takes an immense amount of knowledge and skill to operate a successful trucking business. This is especially true for those in AG and transpo.
To outside world it may seem like its easy and comparable to unskilled labor (just hop in the seat and go) but that couldn't farther from the truth.
The left thinks those that works hard and has nice things should be ashamed of themselves. They want everyone to be equally poor.I'll disagree, people need to feel good about themselves and having/owning nice quality jewelry makes people feel good
The right thinks being born with money means they earned itThe left thinks those that works hard and has nice things should be ashamed of themselves. They want everyone to be equally poor.

I hate to break this to you. But the majority of the right was not born into money. They earned it with hard works and a responsible life style. And there are elites that were born into money on both sides. I think your stereotyping is bunk. The right thinks being born with money means they earned it
How do you like my stereotyping , comparatively?
it's also bigly subsidized by tthe gov't. so you're in favor of Socialism as a Trumpie?Farming is also something that is not just blindly done by the unskilled.
Oh I was a Republican for over fifty years and then in 2016 they lost their minds and nominated a Con - Artist internet Troll to be leader of the free worldI hate to break this to you. Many of those subsidies were brought on by bad trade agreements made by many administrations. It didn't just happen under Trump. It has nothing to do with socialism.it's also bigly subsidized by tthe gov't. so you're in favor of Socialism as a Trumpie?
No disagreement with you that running any successful business requires an large amount of skill and knowledge because if you don't have them as well as the ability to work long hours, you won't make it. You name it: printing, transportation, farming, nail factories, pumping oil. They all require smart business management but do they require the same from its workers? From my perspective, I can tell you with 100% confidence, it takes an immense amount of knowledge and skill to operate a successful trucking business. This is especially true for those in AG and transpo.

The paperwork and regulations are definitely a challenge. Not to mention the mechanical knowledge needed you mentioned. Its definitely not for everyone however. Nowadays drivers are expected to not only have a class 1 (with specialty endorsements) but also heavy equip maintenance/mechanics. Most of this takes a minimum of 3yrs trade school. Or, one yr less than it took me to earn a BSN. And this is just for self-drivers.
What it takes to actually run a successful safe transpo business go far beyond that.
