I have a buddy that dives for abalone down in cali and he was telling me they hit the spots in kelp bed areas that are thick with seals because most divers are afraid of the whites and don't go there so it's easy pickings. Fully expect him to disappear some day. Now the Orca, amazing creatures. Such a sad thing they are declining. One gave birth recently to a stillborn calf. She carried it for over two weeks as if to say "look, look at my child, we are dying" They play, and show off around boats. They can also be cruel. Fascinating beings.

No dude I am old, lol and this is the time of year I start to feel it believe me understand someday you have no idea how much I love to just sit and chill these days!

What is that Medium? What are you feeding, what's your pH & ppm ?

That just means you have more knowledge than me and I can learn a few things. I do understand how you feel during this time of year. Things start to really hurt.

Its roots organics soil. I did tell you up above lol but that old man short term memory loss must be out of wack haha!

I'm using roots organics nutrients as well. one of those soil nutrient starter pack things. It has dry amendments along with liquid nutrients. I've not added anything aside from their oregonism xl amendment.

There is a picture from an earlier posting today a few messages back. I'm running tap water that is 6.5 before the charcoal filter same ph out. Letting the water sit for at least 24 hours in a 5 gallon bucket with an air disk. Supposedly the water is soft but I beg to differ on that. Any how, Im not sure of ppms' of tap water because the cheap meter I got does not work along with the ph meter. I got one of those soil ph, moisture, lighting probes that go directly in soil but the thing was junk. I'm testing the water with drops for now. I want to grab some bluelab equipment but I'm being cheap and waiting for them to go on sale. If they dont go on sale any where in the next few weeks I'm just going to suck it up and spend the money. For now I'm gonna fake it till I make it. I know im going to suffer a bit till I get my meters but I'm hopeful that going with organics in fabric pots will make up for it. Staying optimistic lol

Why are you using a charcoal filter? What's your PPM from the tap?

• Let me ask you a question: Would you go diving with shoddy equipment ?

Take that triple meter that you stick in the dirt outside and hit it with a hammer (not joking).

You're going to run into issues eventually where you going to need both meters, (these issues will likely be caused by lack of using these meters to begin with) if you do this with any real intent you might as well just get them now and start getting things adjusted properly rather than chasing issues as they arise

At the very minimum get a 2-meter combo pH & ppm pack for anywhere from 10 to 20 bucks on Amazon.

I recommend Apera meters, there next to flawless, good luck!

Some of those kelp beds are huge and your buddy is right. No one ever dives them, untapped beauty. Lol it's funny but it's not. I have been told some stories about some of those guys going missing. The creatures that live in those beds you really cant even describe how many different animals live in them. It's just amazing what you see. The ones I dove are way down In baja. I got to see a vaquita once down there. Now there are only about 30 of them left. The Chinese sneak in and over fish the area and basically wiped out that entire species.

The orca is a strang creature. They are either overly playful or just out right demons lol. There is no middle ground for them. I've done a bunch of trip to the San juan islands and always see them out that way. I do like to dive when I know they are around. Just as much as I love diving the keys when dolphins are around. You know you're safe and dont have to worry about sharks. Dolphins are more prone to hanging around with you. The basically dont leave your side. Orca' will stay around for a bit but when they are around and they leave you know it's time to go.

I did not know about the still born. You are correct to interpret her saying such. It's crazy what go' on in the oceans because of us. It's sad really. That's why I dive so often. One day it's going to just all be gone!

No, no smashing it. I took it back. I've been through 3 different brands of amazon meters none of them worked correctly. I will give the ones you reccomend a shot. I figured I would run into issues but I was banking on everything sorting it self out because it is organic soil & nutrients. I've read many journals and articles that no one has checked ph or ppm' while growing in living soil and all have said that due to the soil you dont need to really worry about ph or ppms as everything sorts it self out.

I'm thinking its probably to late now because they are autos. I dont think at this point even if I did have a ph and ppm meter it would turn it all around. It's a lesson learned and I'll just have to deal with it. No sense of crying over spilt milk.

The girl' are three weeks old today and they are looking really good! The issue I was having with the lower leaves seems to have worked it self out. Temps, Lights, Rh & vpd are still the same!

I left early saturday afternoon to go away for the night, not to return till last night at 9:30. Before I left, I gave them each eight oz' of water with a little less than half a tsp of calmag. I was really nervous leaving them alone for over thirty hours.

As soon as I got home, I hobbled my handicapped ass in the house. I checked on them right away and they were just fine. I really thought they would be half way dead when I returned home. I was very happy when I saw them and knew they were ok.

Here are some pictures that were just taken. I also included a picture of where I sit and tend too the ladies lol. I had to return that humidifier a few posting back as it kept on leaking and the motor kept getting wet. The new one holds a little more water than the last. It also has a base so if it does leak, the water wont get into the motor as it did on the last one.

I was starting to worry but she seems to be fine. Thanks Mike, I tried to put something together that I'll be happy with and can easily manage till I get better. I am glad I waited and took my time gathering all of the equipment. It set me back a bit from when I originally wanted to start but it all worked out to my benefit and I couldn't be more happy.

I really cant wait to see what you come up with my good friend! Soon enough brother soon enough.

Last Tuesday the kill a watt meter finally arrived.
When I plugged it in I was actually pulling 165 watts from the wall & not 160 like I first thought. So each board was pushing around 55 watts at 15".

Last Thursday when I checked in the A.m. the soil was just about dried out. I decided to give them till the evening to dry out a bit more before I watered them. When I went to water them (I gave them both 3/4 a gallon) I noticed they started to flower some, so I upped the wattage on my driver from 165 to 230. each board is now getting just over 76 watts. 76.6 to be exact lol. I also raised the fixture to 27".

Last night when I checked them before bed they were starting to dry out some. I decided to wait until today to water them. Each plant received shy of 1 gallon, I've still not added any nutrients. Just 6.5 ph tap water and a few doses of Oregonism XL (bennies). I also decided to tuck some leaves and tie down some stems. Temps, RH & Vpd are still the same as the last few weeks.

Here are some pictures I took today before & after I tucked & tried them down.

Yeah they did start flowering pretty fast even for auto'. I didn't notice any preflowers then all of a sudden they started to flower. There are a bunch of nodes even on the bottom stems. Under the main there are at least 5 or six sets of nodes possibly a few more. I've not checked on them since I turned up the wattage last night and this morning. That light is blinding even with sunglasses on. I tried to look at the light with burning goggles on and I still couldn't do it. If it's not late when I get home I'll try to get in there and take a better picture.

Thanks alot . I've been trying to keep it as updated as possible, there really has not been much to update though. More updates should come now that they are starting to flower. I sure hope I get some good smoke. I think I'll do pretty good as long as I keep doing what I'm doing.
Staying optimistic and having patience is key.

First week of flower day three.

@Merica_Mike. I finally got around to taking the pictures I said I would.

Some of the tips on the fan leaves & sugar leaves seem to be burnt. I'm not sure if it's because they finally need some nutrients or if it's due to the light being at 27".
They did not look like this till this morning. I raised the light from 27" up to 30" just in case. I also mixed a batch of nutrients as well. I did not feed them yet (soil is still a bit damp)

Aurora recommends letting the mix sit with an airstone for 24 hours so that's what I'm going to do. I do not have an airstone, I have a disk. I mixed the feeding in a 1 gallon jug and I just stuck the air hose directly in because the disk wont fit lol.

I looked at some postings and pictures of deficiencies, but can not seem to figure out what exactly is going on if anything. Everything I've read seems to indicate light burn but still being new I'm not really sure. That's why I decided to raise the light & mix up a feeding. I figured if it is the light, raising it should help. If it's not the light then the feeding mix should do the trick.
