Yes they do.
This guy isn't going to understand anything until he goes to China himself. He needs to go there and come back to report it all to everyone. Let everyone know when you return with your top bin Samsung's Emerald and don't eat the eggs or you may not make it back home.

So I’m wanting to relocate my drivers, my question is they do get pretty hot while running and is it ok to mount them directly to plywood?

I want to mount them above the yellow power block in the picture

OK so what you are saying is if you can save $10 and take a risk of getting a top bin or lower bin it doesn't matter because you saved $10 and so long as it does the job you saved $10 so you are happy to let a company that did the research to be copied be fucked over because you can save $10. That's fine, your money so what you want. If you want to find out if they are using a top bin or not then get on a plane and go to China to visit this factory to find out if your $10 saving was worth it. My advice is don't eat eggs in China.

Find me a source in EU that delivers me 96 lm561c chip boards to the door for $8.50 or $25.50 for a 288 board. 288 boards from HLG were going for $75 at the time of order and there wasn't any shipping included in that price.

The samsung diodes HLG use are manufactured in (Drumroll) China.

Everyone knows the Samsung LED's are packaged in China, you should go to the factory that packages them in China and come back and tell us about it. It seems you are trying to relay some crap you have read on the net to people instead of having real life experience. Go to China and get some understanding of the LED industry.

If the leds keep running when the power is off then I would buy more of them and power the room for free, this Chinese company may have made a great discovery and can make diodes light up with nothing but the surrounding air
SO we have been having rolling blackouts.
I was sitting in the grow with the power out, as it has lights on a UPS...
I noticed the ceiling fan was turning. I had visions of it somehow getting juice...and how I would use this
Turns out the power came back on but a ground loop breaker tripped, and the fan is obviously not earthed.

Why do I have to go to Samsung in China to know that they manufacture their diodes in China? Weren't you the one whining about buying a fixure from there...? Fake news.

An led packaging company is a very different type of company to the ones you are dealing with on alibaba that have a pick and place machine and a reflow oven, this is why you really do need to go to China and see the difference with your own eyes. It's difficult for me to explain my experiences with someone as clueless as you.

During a black out there is often still enough voltage running through the lines to do a few strange things

You can mount them to ply, it's better to run a bit of aluminium between the ply and driver if you can, this should also help take some heat away from the driver to make it last longer

Ok I don’t have and aluminum available. I was more concerned about a fire hazard more or less

If it's going to catch fire it will do it no matter where it's located. I have seen drivers catch fire before, all grow rooms should have automatic fire extinguishers in them just in case.

Screenshot_20190330-155620_Samsung Internet.jpg what am I missing? 4 boards for $135, a driver will cost about the same amount, so that's $270. How are you saving anything with a purchase from China?
