Why wouldn't they if Medicare is better? Why will wealthy people buy into a public option if they can afford private insurance?
Why wouldn't they if Medicare is better? Why will wealthy people buy into a public option if they can afford private insurance?
LOL, okThat statement is devoid of all logic
Medicare is popular because people like it, people like it because it works. 85% of the Democratic party supports universal healthcare, 52% of the Republican party supports it. It's going to happen sooner or later, and three years after Sanders ran on it, when Hillary Clinton said it would "Never ever come to pass", nearly every Democratic candidate has endorsed it. It's here to stay
The plan they get in the senate, gold level Obama care.Medicare has a 70% approval rating from those who use it
What other medical coverage program has a higher rating than that in America?
The only plan better than Medicare is what congress gets? Who funds that again? The plan they get in the senate, gold level Obama care.
They pay 28% of the premium. I'll bet it passed 535-0.The only plan better than Medicare is what congress gets? Who funds that again?
The private insurance I have doesn't pay 100% for a lot of expensive treatments. Something like 80-20 for hospital bills, surgery, other high cost treatment. It's not all that different from the current form of Medicare in that regard. She buys supplemental insurance to cover those items. When she went down hard and spent several weeks in the hospital, Medicare and AARP insurance covered it all.LOL, ok
Have you ever heard Fogdog mention his mother? She's on Medicare and still has to pay for some things with the little bit of limited income she has left. That is pretty fucking great, ain't it?
How does a person like you manage to breathe and chew gum at the same time? The only plan better than Medicare is what congress gets? Who funds that again?
?Over 70 is a group.
My wife who has worked for various doctors over 40 years would disagree with that statement. She worked for the head of the children's hospital board for several years. He's since retired. He traveled the world on his own dime to treat kids free. Funny story, we are bought tickets to an event that honered my wife's boss and installed a new head of this doctors association. Tux required. I rented a tux of course. The Dr paid for the tickets at $1000 a pop for my wife and myself.it was at the underground railroad center. Guy playing the piano, limos dropping people off. Everyone there was a Dr or someone VIP. Except us. My wife and I checked out the museum which was closed to the public that evening. On the way back up the elevator this black group of people got on the elevator and we chatted a bit. No tuxes. Just street clothes. The heavyset young lady was very nice. We all get off the elevator and went to our assigned seats. We were seated with the doctor my wife worked for as well as other VIPs. After numerous speeches and award ceremonies the young heavyset black lady in street clothes took the podium. She was voted by her peers to take over the head position of this organization. Hell I figured she was a server. Odd how we think. Not dressed like the others. She gave her story and was truly self made. 4 different doctorate degrees and she looked around 35 ish. She ran numerous clinics for inner city and low income. Now the last doctor my wife worked for who came from Canada is about one thing. Money.Doctors that accept Medicare also provide minimal care
Wait. am I wrong? You are out in front of the White House picketing? Taking part in marches? Shutting down a major highway in protest? No, you are just another person saying stick it to big industry when it's not their fault that Americans are pussies. Until Americans understand that the power and the money lies with us nothing is going to change.Ya Okay, you got me figured right out. Thanks for that. geeze wow I needed that.
lol, yeah that sounds awesome. Having to choose which plan you can afford based on your optimistic forecast of your health. Meanwhile countries with universal healthcare just have plans that....well cover EVERYTHING and is cheaper than America. Believe me guy, it's no much better. The unhealthiest I have been in my life has been since moving to America. Even with full coverage I end up not going to the doctor as much as I should because who the hell can wait 2 weeks for an appointment? No I don't. I would opt out of coverage for shit that doesn't affect me, so I would pay less.
What are you basing this on? I've read more than a few reports of doctors running up bills because they know medicare will pay for it. So which is it? Can you give me sources that talks about your claim?Doctors that accept Medicare also provide minimal care
Even if I was a millionaire, I would still want to save money by not paying for shit I don't fucking need.lol, yeah that sounds awesome. Having to choose which plan you can afford based on your optimistic forecast of your health.
Not for everyone. Actually, I'd like to see Medicare as a public option and expanded to cover everything. I think it would be competitive. In fact, it should even reduce premiums for those with stellar health who wish to prune coverage to exclude conditions for which they are not at risk. I'd love to see universal healthcare, never said otherwise. So, relax kiddo.Meanwhile countries with universal healthcare just have plans that....well cover EVERYTHING and is cheaper than America.
You should leave America then. I did. I still pay income tax on my earnings abroad though.Believe me guy, it's no much better. The unhealthiest I have been in my life has been since moving to America.
Sounds like you'd rather abstain from the US healthcare system altogether. It might be to your benefit. Or maybe just get a plan that covers the basics and emergencies.Even with full coverage I end up not going to the doctor as much as I should because who the hell can wait 2 weeks for an appointment?
Yeah, I know veterans in San Diego who prefer to go to Tijuana and pay out of pocket even though they get everything for free through the VA.American health care - Get sick call doctor - told to wait 2 to 3 weeks or go to emergency room - go to emergency room - charged 100 times what the doctor visit would have been. Brilliant.
No. Not for everyone. The people who don't use it still fucking pay. They are overpaying.Yes, for everyone.
Dual*I'm a duel citizen and my other country the national health care covers every procedure for everyone.
Yes, it is terrible, 44 million people still completely lack healthcare coverage. It's fucking inhumane and most of the idiots who support it would say they "hate Obamacare but love the ACA" and don't realize they're the same thing.I had to come to America for family, and I like it fine here but only because I have it very easy, doesn't mean that I can't talk about how stupid America is on this and other issues.
My favorite plan would be a bare minimum one that covers emergencies but excludes preventable stuff. As I said, I don't live in the US but I still have to pay taxes there. My plan in America does cover everything.......what does that have to do with waiting weeks for appointments? Are you saying you have a special same day appointment plan? Back home you get sick you walk in and are seen within 30 minutes. Can you say you have that here? Even with your special plan that you love?
There isn't anybody who doesn't use it. You go to the dentist at least twice a year, you catch at least a few colds a year. You may even catch the flu. Then there are the vaccines that should get over the years. The annual health checks. And we are talking average healthy Joe here.No. Not for everyone. The people who don't use it still fucking pay. They are overpaying.
gee nobody ever thought of that before. ThanksWait. am I wrong? You are out in front of the White House picketing? Taking part in marches? Shutting down a major highway in protest? No, you are just another person saying stick it to big industry when it's not their fault that Americans are pussies. But @schuylaar sez they have the ACA. Of course, she's an ORW.They pay 28% of the premium. I'll bet it passed 535-0.
