Drugs can lead to that, for sure, but so can any other situation that leads to having a low income with the high property costs. I know families here in Michigan that have been homeless all summer and neither parent is on drugs. I can just imagine if the property costs where higher here.

I am guessing these people come to the city for prosperity and end up in a similar situation. Most jobs aren't enough to pay the bills, no matter where you are at. Their support from family either doesn't exist or they are too far away to contribute also.
