I only keep 2-4 moms at a time, and they aren't big actually. I don't do 50 clone batches though. I run 40-50 plants in flower ay once, but they are in batches of 10-12 plants. I typically have 4 cycles in the tray at once for the total plant count.
I used to do a SoG, needed 200 cuttings (big ones) every 20 days. I found that 5 large mothers did the trick.

How many t5 would you use for this SOG set up?
Excuse my interruption but I could use your advice. I have SOG set up similar to what’s described. 5x5 grow area and I’m aiming at squeezing 50 in. I also am using 1000 hps but I get different accounts on the veg light. T5 pr cfl is better choice??
T5 over the cfl and metal halide will outperform both those
Can you tell me a little about metal halide
It’s your HPS fixture with a different bulb. Much more intense then t5 but in a better spectrum for veg then your HPS

T5 cant compete against hid or led,.
1,000 watt hps in a 5x5 is what you want so long as you have enough height to hang it so the light foot print covers the canopy. If you want to spend money and use less electricity then 700-750 watts of led. If you choose led make sure its quantum boards or Samsung strips.
I had a single t5 fixture. It had 8 bulbs and was 4'long x 2' wide. It perfectly covered a 2x4 flood tray. That tray held my mother plants and the clones that vegged for 7-14 days to establish roots. The t5 stayed just a couple inches above the veg plants so they didn't stretch any more then nessecary.
I have an 8 bulb HO t5!! Will this be good?? I keep hearing to use MH instead of t5
use the higher K value bulbs in the T5 if you already have it. more blues, less reds for veg
The t5 fixture is a great veg light. I don't know about your garden but as I was running my SOG for the last ten years I found it was essential to keep the plants a manageable size to keep my flower room from getting over crowded and turning into a jungle. I wasn't trying to veg big plants, I was vegging many small plants. So the T5 let me do that well. I could keep the light close to the plants and they just rooted nicely without stretching a ton into big plants. I only let them get 7-8 inches tall.
