Those root plugs were looking way to dry in that picture, should be soaked to start and keep a bit of standing water in the bottom of tray to keep them moist but not soaked for the rest of time. Once you take your cuts put the dome on and shouldnt need to touch anything for 4-5 days.
They were def dry lost a tray and a half last night but when I woke up this morning I had 3 incredible bulk that rooted.

I took a liter of water a spread it around the tray. I will leave the vents closed for a day and then open them tomorrow unless you all think I should leave em open indefinitely.

I agree with Renfro. I don't know why people worry about PH when cloning. Ph only effects nutrient uptake. Since you don't have roots to take up nutrients, it doesn't matter. Once roots show adjust your PH and water them with 280ppm of nutrient solution.

I am not recommending this but once my clones have roots I start splashing them with full strength nutes at around 1000 - 1100 PPM and a hydro pH of 5.8 since they don't have any medium except the rapid rooter. They love it and for me it's easy lol. I don't know why it works for me but it does. Perhaps it's because I take large cuttings off fat tops and I don't cut off all the leaves or nodes instead dipping them in an antiwilt solution and doming them. Once they get roots I open the vents in the dome to start hardening them and I give them food and move them closer to the light.

I'll be honest, I'm no expert in cloning. I kind of suck at it. That's why I take 2x what I need.

The plants were a little droopy so I raised the lights. I’m going to give them a few more hours with no light so they can recover. I ran them with no tea and when I removed the lid I smelled an odor and that’s how it starts. If I don’t add tea I will eventually get slime or the stems will get mushy. Ph was crazy high too.

I bought my ezcloner when it and the clone king were about the same price. Why do you all like the clone king better?
What is the water temp in the cloner.

Shouldnt use a tea in a cloner your stems get mushy because of heat.

Dont over think it. Keep the clone humidity high and the root zone humidity low. Keep the root zone no more moist than you would with a new seed and it will take root

Clones perked up and My light is back on. Lights have been on for 7 hrs and no droop thanks for the 16” advice.

It can’t be the tea because I had a bad smell only after a few hours with no tea and I clean with physan 20 or soft scrub with bleach if I’m out of physan 20. My tea could be rotten but it smells ok. In the past I’ve even used clear Rez and pool shock and still get the slime or smell or mushy stems.

I have an air stone in the cloner so I’m going to add more air. Is there anything wrong with having pumps on 24/7 besides temp? Will they root faster or slower?

In the root riot cubes, today I got a kandy kush clone rooted. Cuz of you all, thx for that.

Hmm, guess I am glad I didn't over research it. I have even taken cuttings 2 weeks into flower, use a razor cleaned with alcohol, cut on angle, immediately hang in a cup of water with a squirt of aloe vera gel, (sunburn stuff, lol), leave for about an hour then bury the stem about 2 to 3" in FFHF and 25% perlite. Water until it runs out the bottom of the solo cup, with holes in it, cut some small holes on the edge of a sandwich baggie, spray water in the bag and place over plant in solo cup to maintain humidity. Check morning and night misting the inside of the baggie. They start vegging again after about 7 to 10 days. I have a small veg tent 18" x 18" x 24" with T9 circle fluorescent, and a couple CFL bulbs.

What temps do you have in your cloner? When you clean your cloner do you run it with heavy bleach or physan in it for a while? Most people that have stem rot issues only surface clean their cloner and dont run bleach in the water with the cloner running. I run mine for 12 hours with heavy bleach solution. If you have a cycle timer that will help out if you keep getting stem rot but your not fixing your main problem, which is bacteria in your cloner. Should use plain water in cloner, put timer on 30 seconds on 10 minutes off.

I run the pumps for about 3 hrs with physan 20 and I haven’t used bleach in a while. I spilled a little on the carpet and it didn’t go well with the parents. When cloning is planned 24 hrs.

When I took clones yesterday I ran it for 3 hrs since the members on this thread convinced me and I had a KK mom that was ready.

Temp is 68•F. My water temp seams to stay at whatever the ambient temp is even when I run the pump 24/7. It’s very cold here.

Just a heads up at that low of temp it will take a long time to root. Ideally high 70’s and if you run the pump like I said you should have way better success and less issues.

Stop it with the tea FFS. You dont have any microbes to break the organic shit down so its available to the plant and you dont have any roots to uptake the shit that the microbes break down so its available to the plant anyways. .

I bought a few jiffy 7 32mm pods. It’s 8 days later and I have roots on 1 beginning to form. They cost 50% less then the root riot cubes and are much easier to deal with. I think they will make a great backup to the ezcloner and the best part they are shelf stable unlike root riot. I had some root riot cubes brand new and unopened and the peat actually sprouted.

Keeping the 32mm upright in the tray is a little tricky so I’m getting 36mm pods. The 32mm pods have to be positioned just right in the tray or they fall over.

I’m not sure how rollitup admins and mods feel about external links but I followed this guide and it seams to work and my cuts weren’t as big as the ones in this guide: https://www.growweedeasy.com/cloning-made-easy

I should mention that I did not spray the cuts Directly like the guide says too, but I sprayed the dome only. When the rest of these have rooted and I have a mom plant that can handle it, I plan to take cuts that big. Is there any downside to taking bigger cuts?
