MEIZHI and Spider Farmer LEDS

I am just crawling, 1 outdoor & 1 Indoor grow so far. Just became RIU member recently, first time ever joining online anything.

The SF 4000 is only for a short term use, not the long haul in a new 10' x 8' veg room. 2 cover the entire area. They will be replaced with a quality light yet TBD, price will not be a factor when replacing.

It does have a Meanwell driver & other quality electronic parts. I can source them @ Mouser, Newark, Digikey etc. if needed. There is also a 3 year warranty, I have been in contact with the SF Support and have received prompt replys about my 2 inquiry's about light hanging to canopy height.

We shall see when it comes to the warranty service.
As soon as I get any failure I will post it.

I did consider building the HLG 600 Kit @ the time. If you build it "DIY" no warranty. And the cost for 2 was not good on the budget @ the time.

I want to know just what component/s has failed on all of his lights?
Spider Farmer has gotten good reviews, I just don't think they are well known or established yet. Not sure exactly what diodes (top bin or not) they use, and I'm not sure how far they stand behind their products.

Nothing wrong with CMH lights either. My first grow I used CMH, once I hit 12/12 I bought a Timber 2 VL to compliment it.

Keep that Spider Farmer for a future veg tent, buy yourself a good grow light.

OP, clearly you lack the knowledge of what a proper led light should be, spectrum-wise, cause even if the Meizhi's didn't have a high failure rate, they're still shit lights for a fruiting plant like cannabis

The SFs appear to be a much different light with spectrums fit for cannabis growing, they are surface mount, the diodes have a silicon coating and they appear to use proper drivers.

Hopefully someone starts a thread using the SFs
That's how I found this thread. I was looking at the SF 4000 thinking it might be worth a try and when digging around found that. I'd like to hear more about them.

my sf2k have been awesome so far, but 2 months isn't much of a test.
May I ask two questions in reference to your sf2000? I have one as well for veg. # 1 -your sweet spot light to canopy distance
#2- your ambient temperature
Thank you,
FF

12-18" depending on the age of plant, I let them get closer and ran out of space to raise them ;). 80-84f for the room temp, a bit warmer than my normal in an effort to help with leaf transpiration.
