21 days from seed today. Well stems weren't very flexible so I decided against lst. I did see the tape method that will probably work better at this time. I switched to 12/12 5 days ago. Also got them in a bigger res. The roots are from 3 days ago and others are from today. Even have some growth coming from cotlyedons which I didn't find many examples of that. Do i need to remove any fan leaves blocking the lower growth or just try to get them out of the way?

I wouldn't remove any of the fan leaves at this point in time. I'm not sure what you have planned for your res as far as preventing root rot goes but it's something to consider before it turns into a problem for you. Yeah I know I need to just haven't got to it. Been having to deal with some unexpected things in life since getting back from travel so not been on it as much. I think getting them out of the small container when I did was vital. They were tangled so hopefully they look better when i change res again. I will read up on the link. If you were using bigger pots with hydroton youd be able to just lay the whole plant down on its side if you wanted to. Thats how I start my LST, by laying the plant down at transplant. Even in the 3" netpots you can just pull out some of the top hydroton and wiggle them around a bit to safely lay them down on their side.
I would also do anything you can to cover the top of that box and the gaps around the plants. Even if its just cutting up an old towel to make a cover for it. Youre pretty much just asking for rot right now imo and your low intensity lighting might be the only reason you dont already have it.

That's a fantastic idea! I'll definitely be doing that next time. Currently dealing with a short, stubby indica that doesn't want to be told where to grow.

These were transplanted a week later than I would have liked to because I lost a light and had to fix it.
I drop the roots down through the bottom and hold the stem about where I want it in the pot and gently fill in around the roots with hydroton. Once the pot is around 3/4 full, I position the plant how I want it to lay and then fill in the rest of the hydroton. After a couple days to recover I tie them down to the edges of the pots with rubber coated wire.

Thanks. Yeah man just put them in that container a few days ago and thrown a curveball in life so haven't been on the ball as much. I'm adding some hydroguard as well to help prevent it. Think I should probably get a second pump and airstone eh? I think I probably could have done some training but with this being my first grow I'm probably being over cautious.

15 LITER per MINUTE per plant is the low end of what you want for airstone flow.
I run around 30 LPM per site iirc.
I like the LST method because its easy AF. Tie the plant down on its side then top it 1 time and you can EASILY turn 1 plant into 8,10,12 or more main colas depending on how you top it. For my first go around id probably tie them and top and trim them to get 4-6 main branches going and strip everything else off.

Got my container covered for now and will do something more permanent. I think I was starting to get a little rot because I had some leaves with slight clawing. I scaled the nutes back a little when adding hydroguard. They started praying shortly after that so hopefully a good sign. I also went ahead and tucked some leaves versus pulling them off
I'm actually starting to think the claws may have been from wind burn. Some of the leaves closer to the fan are a bit crinkled. I turned my fan up and pointed it more towards the plants. Seeing the slight claws a few days later
Star killer on left is about 14 inches tall and random is about 10.5. The leaf tucking has helped a lot. Got most of the tops in direct light. Got some new lights in. Found 45w two pack for dirt cheap, plus they are small enough to work in my space. The flowering distance recommended by the light is 15 inches so that's what I have it at. You think I should use the one straight above, how it is in the second pic, or I could turn the box to have them running long ways have both side by side going straight down?

Got them all good with the Cfls for lower/side lighting. I'll post a better pic of the plants in a bit
First two pics are of Star killer. Got all the tops coming out and about the same height. Third pic is the random. Haven't grown out like the other but they are getting direct light still

Don't mind the burn on those leaves lol. When I added the new lights it caused them to shift into the CFL
