I understand that but there has to be a precise number so I can add the correct amount of nutrients to the waterTil you get water coming out of bottom of pot.
You will start to learn how much it takes with time. My 3 gal cloth pot ladies take about a gallon and a half until runoff. Start at a gallon, then if no run off do up some more nutesI understand that but there has to be a precise number so I can add the correct amount of nutrients to the water
That's the wrong approach. In a three gallon pot, smaller plants may require 1.5-2 gallons of mixture. My plants that I've vegged for 4-8 weeks require right around a gallon before I get runoff.I understand that but there has to be a precise number so I can add the correct amount of nutrients to the water
Exactly the same for me (Sunshine #4 in 3 gal plastic).I do a soilless mix in 3 gal fabric and a gallon gets me a small amount of runoff.
It kinda depends on the strain, the medium, the heat from lighting, the humidity level, the air movement, and the stage of growth as well. There is no one right answer. I use living soil, 5 gallon smart pots, and in veg I was giving them each about 3/4 gallon every 3 days, but in late flower they were getting 1 gallon or more every 2-3 days. The plant will tell you. Start slow and build up to what they need. It only takes a few waterings to figure it out. Keep a log to reference for the pattern that works for the situation. Next grow will likely be different anyway. So I was using a 2.8L “3qt” pot and adding 1 gallon of water so how much water is used for a 3 gallon smart pot?!?
You must of been getting more runoff than what stayed in the pot unless your mix was 10 times as dense as mine.So I was using a 2.8L “3qt” pot and adding 1 gallon of water
I’m using happy frog mediumYou must of been getting more runoff than what stayed in the pot unless your mix was 10 times as dense as mine.
What kind of dirt are you using?
1 gallon of water in a 3 gallon pot, with an established plant, is 2 or so days between waterings. Temps being reasonable
The perspective of that shot makes the pot look a lot smaller than a 3 gal. Are you certain it's a 3 gallon pot?I’m using happy frog medium
I was watering it every 3/4 days 6.5 hp with nutrients
I like the looks of that happy frog vs the look of the ffof i have going this run.. All the bark and sticks in it bothers meThat’s the 3 gallon smart pot ima be using next

Well I do believe it was gettin more that 20% runoff but it’s my first plant so trial and errorHappy frog is good stuff. Guess you are getting a ton of runoff then.
A 3 qt pot should take a qt or so of water to get runoff.
How long do you go in the happy frog before you start adding liquid nutrients?I understand that but there has to be a precise number so I can add the correct amount of nutrients to the water
