This is the situation: I am growing 19 plants in one container using High Pressure Aero. I have started all these plants from seed, various strains. I am now about to switch to flowering in about two more weeks. Statistically up to half of them will be males. Could be more, but in my past experience it will most likely be less. All the roots are intertwined in a 75 gal tote with thirteen HP tefen fogging heads.
This is the question: When the males reveal themselves should I: 1 -- Attempt to remove them by pulling them out (which willl no doubt harm the female's roots somewhat). 2 -- Cut the males off at their base and run something like hydrogen peroxide to try to keep ill effects (if any) of rotting roots at bay. 3 -- cut off the males and graft female clones onto their root system. 4 -- Use some brilliant idea they you may share (hopefully). I know this was not an entirely intelligent way do start out, but I have recently moved from Cali and wanted to continue on with strains I have developed over twenty years or so, and the only was I could do that was with seed I had brought with me. On the bright side this is the only time I will have to do this as from now on it will be clones all the way unless I want to introduce an additional strain or two further down the line, by which time I will have a chamber with separate containers for each plant.
