Odd Situation -- Odd Question

This is the situation: I am growing 19 plants in one container using High Pressure Aero. I have started all these plants from seed, various strains. I am now about to switch to flowering in about two more weeks. Statistically up to half of them will be males. Could be more, but in my past experience it will most likely be less. All the roots are intertwined in a 75 gal tote with thirteen HP tefen fogging heads.
This is the question: When the males reveal themselves should I: 1 -- Attempt to remove them by pulling them out (which willl no doubt harm the female's roots somewhat). 2 -- Cut the males off at their base and run something like hydrogen peroxide to try to keep ill effects (if any) of rotting roots at bay. 3 -- cut off the males and graft female clones onto their root system. 4 -- Use some brilliant idea they you may share (hopefully). I know this was not an entirely intelligent way do start out, but I have recently moved from Cali and wanted to continue on with strains I have developed over twenty years or so, and the only was I could do that was with seed I had brought with me. On the bright side this is the only time I will have to do this as from now on it will be clones all the way unless I want to introduce an additional strain or two further down the line, by which time I will have a chamber with separate containers for each plant.

That's the challenge with multiple plants in one tub

I'd cut them off .I've done it in DWC with two in a bucket, no issues, the stub stem just tried to re veg, so they stayed pretty good, I was actually surprised. But I was just growing for seeds so wasn't needing the big buds either

But check , maybe they can be removed with minimal root damage. Plants are tuff, they can handle quit a bit

That is great news Bob. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

Option 3: I have done many times when I was into DWC/AERO,

simply poke a hole in the male scion and insert the pointy end on the female scion into the male

ENSURE CAMBIUMS MATCH

some don't work in which case you fall back to option 2

I gave up Aero due to this ...lol

and went organic ....that was 25 years back ....lol

good luck

Wow, I think it is so cool that you have grafted female tops onto male roots. I started with clandestine outdoor planting in 68', but ended up total organic outdoor for about twenty years in cali. Now I am clandestine again and forced to be indoors. So far so good. All in all it's a lot less work than all the tea brewing and transplanting and pest and mildew suppression, I had to deal with. Even outdoors I ended up using a high tech nylon net to plant under like the big boys in Columbia do. Cut way down on the pests. Ended up using various beneficial insects, and bacteria to take care of the pests. I had a little herd of dragonflys that lived in my tent. Don't know where they came form or how they got in but I use to give them water and they were very amusing to hang out with. And when they couldn't handle something I would use a vacuum cleaner with a little reducer attachment and would shake a plant and just vacuum up the flies or whatever that took off in the air above the plants.
One thing I am curious about is how you matched up the cambiums, I mean assuming that the male bottom half will be much older and thicker in diamerter than the clone you grafted onto it.

True age is a factor, as is maturity, often as you know the males are way? ahead of the females, often you can use a small lateral'stump' lower down at the base, ensure the females is roughly the same diameter, I use honey as a glue and wrap them up tight with red' electrical tape
if not secure in 10 days scrap and restart
Best time to do this IMO is in mid preflower

Suffering aphids attack at the mo ..my prob too many plants under one light Grrr! using Neem Oil

check these IMO:

I have thought about grafting several different strains onto one plant.... No particular reason, just think it would be fun.

it is a very handy skill for places where the limit to own plants is minimal, or just a great gift

Yeah. I also like to think of having a 15 foot tall, 15 foot wide plant in my back yard that has 4+ different strains growing off the main trunk. 1/4 purple, 1/4 short compact indica, 1/4 pure sativa, 1/4 hybrid of some sort. Those would be some amazing pictures.
