If they are blown over be VERY careful trying to lift off the ground, Thats when the stem snaps its very important to have extra set of hands.
Yes, you may need to slide a stake sideways under anything that's slumped over as you straighten her up. Especially if they are soaked. SHe'll live sideways just fine but rot will like those leaves that lay on each other.

I was able to raise everything safely by rigging new guy ropes to stabilize the fenceposts and pulling each corner of the trellis back in place. They're in pretty rough shape...I didn't do a very rugged job and a lot of them snapped and/or pulled out of the ground.

Only found one broken branch miraculously. Couple small spots of bud rot on the Orange Blossom Special again. But everything else looked battered but intact.

Sun came out by 2 or so and nice drying breeze. Tomorrow looks clear.

The scene that greeted me:

The temporary fix:

Tomahawk in the afternoon sun:

Maybe I dodged a bullet on that one?

Hopefully Tomahawk is ready this weekend. Full moon tomorrow...

Starting Week 25--still hanging in there. Was hoping to harvest the Tomahawk this weekend but when I scope the Trichs still not seeing any amber at all. Was thinking as soon as I started to see some I would cut. The Tomahawk is going to be the evening relax/before bed meds.

I don't really think the buds are getting any bigger or denser though. Maybe I should just go ahead. What do you think?

Still getting bud rot in the Orange Blossom Special, I cut out a little bit each morning. Definitely not looking for "couch-lock" in this or any of the other strains--prefer a "get stuff done" cerebral effect. Think I should let it continue or cut now? It's been a damp week, with a few dryouts here and there, and looks like this week will be some more showers alternating with clear days then turning colder. Gut tells me to wait until Columbus Day weekend on this:

Others are coming along--amazing how fast the Copper Chem plumped up the past week.

Some of them still look a little battered by the storm, not standing up quite as tall and straight, but they seem to have survived OK.

I see others are already harvesting. Good work everyone.

For the ones you're thinking about pulling, I guess my principle is not based off of the time but to let them go as long as possible until rot/pm/cats/storms/etc cross the line becoming detrimental. This time of year is not exactly what the plants love about NE but its definitely better to pull early than lose 50%-100% of you're crop. Unless when the trichs look ready. I pulled a bagseed I was growing yesterday, honestly looked like it could have gone an extra week - but almost all the tops had really young cats hiding in them so thank god I went through with it. Im doing a staggered harvest anyways. Good luck brother, they look great.

Looks like that tomahawk has a week or so to go yet. Sometimes it's hard to see the growth when you see them every day. Looks like it still has some swelling to do.
Sorry your garden got mangled. I took a drill auger and went into the ground about a foot and a half with the poles. I may have not lost a lot to rot but I've lost tons to wind breaking branches. This is how we learn tho...
The rest of mine are still weeks out so I have to pull up a seat and hope for the best. Going to start warming up again for about 2 weeks THANK GOD! gojng to be in the 70s. Woot woot. This is what I've been praying for.

P.s. your doing a great job! Keep it up

You had cats? I was wondering if I can stop with the Bt spraying now. Maybe not. It's been a week and a half since I sprayed, didn't seem much point since the rain probably would've washed the Bt off anyway. Glad you were able to harvest. You in the western mountains?

Alright, I'll see how things look over the holiday weekend.

Smart. I should've put more time and effort into the trellis--I just pounded some oak stakes into the ground and then kept having to add extensions as the plants grew taller. Next year I'll do something more substantial. There's so much leaf surface on my plants they act like a sail in high wind.

The rest of mine are still weeks out so I have to pull up a seat and hope for the best. Going to start warming up again for about 2 weeks THANK GOD! gojng to be in the 70s. Woot woot. This is what I've been praying for.
Yay! Indian Summer...hoping for the same here.

P.s. your doing a great job! Keep it up
Thank you. Discouraged at how quickly the beautiful growing weather turned suddenly but that's the nature of the beast.

Im down in MA about 10 miles from Boston, get cats every year  but this year has been the best for me so far I think because after my OG got hit with borers I started spraying BT every 3 days since July and was releasing parasitic wasp eggs every few weeks also. I stopped spraying BT the past couple weeks as the flowers got fat and have been checking every night with a black light which has been going well. To me BT is really the only exception in terms of spraying in flower, but if you can be diligent with manual hunting or if there's not too large of a presence it should be OK to stop but damn cats are no joke. Termites though really gave me a run for my money this season..

How you making out, Farmer? Much longer? I’m in the process of cutting my second to last plant. Last one is still weeks away from finishing. Even the one I’m chopping now could use another week but it’s starting to rot pretty bad and I’m not rolling the dice after losing a whole plant from trying to give it more time. I’ll be so happy when this is done. Will be a good harvest overall and should hit the yield I was hoping for unless I can’t get the final plant to the harvest window.

Hanging in there. Another cold front just blew through with some wind and rain, but not nearly as bad as last week and tomorrow's supposed to be clear so things should dry right up. Didn't see any new rot today, but the Orange Blossom Special has been struggling on that count the past week.

Would love to start harvesting this weekend--just waiting for a few amber trichs to show up on that Tomahawk. Gotta be close. Others hopefully not far behind.

Still no hard frost yet here but supposed to get cold tomorrow night.

Glad you're getting a decent harvest. Thinking maybe we're due for a little Indian Summer here.

Hey NEFarmer good to hear all is recovering after the storm there. We had a beautiful day at more than 70 yesterday and my inland patch was about 2-3 weeks out from a strong finish, but starting Monday temps will move to low 50's and 40's in the night bringing up worries from the frost.

I did my last keefir treatment and thoroughly looking found no mold whatsoever. Seeing as the temps are dropping, I really really hope they are going to finish despite the cold. Some luck I've been having controlling pm but these cold temps I hope the girls survive.

All were looking to be struggling a month ago and now are bigger, greener, and healthier than they have ever been. I'm surprised they are so green with no deficiencies while the whole forest around them is turning yellow and dying I prayed for my crop and it helped!

By the way on 3 of the girls I had the same blackish/purple leaf color change mostly at the top of the plant like you had on the Tomahawk. Haven't made it home to edit out metadata but can post an example when I do. All the best finishing out and a great weekend! :D

Don't think we hit 70 but it's been a nice few days lately. Yesterday and today especially, like New England Autumn as it would be shown in a Hollywood film. Peaking colors, deep blue sky, crisp cool air, northwest Canadian breeze...doesn't get much better. Good work...almost home now.

I think I may be ready for the Tomahawk chop. I took a peek using a more powerful loupe (60X vs 40X) and I'm pretty sure I'm seeing some amber trichs. Not many but a few. Trying to just look directly on the bud itself, not the sugar leaves.

What do you think boys and girls? Here's a pic from this morning:

Maybe at least start taking the ripest top colas this weekend? I could give it a couple more days. Definitely not wanting a heavy "couchlock" effect so don't want to wait too long. My notes say I first started seeing some flowers on this plant August 4.

I wasn't planning to wash the buds at harvest but the more I read on this topic the more I think maybe I should. I'm leaning toward the lemon juice/baking soda formula followed by a second rinse bucket of plain water.

Buds are really growing fast on her but I'm thinking this isn't ready for at least a couple more weeks.

Once Tomahawk is down it looks like Orange Blossom Special will be next--which is good because that's where the bud rot started cropping up last week (seems to have stopped with the drier weather now). Copper Chem is fattening up nicely and the Cherry Wine (CBD) is coming along but not really plumping up quite like the others. Genetics?

Hoping to take Tomahawk over the holiday weekend and maybe do Orange Blossom the following weekend. But we'll see how the weather holds. Last night got down to 36. Still no hard frost right here but it's coming.

Seeing some terrific looking harvests lately here on the forum. Good work everyone.

Looks good, Farmer! One thing on the trichomes, some won’t always go amber as per “the manual”. I wait until the pistils are brown, trichomes are all milky and the buds stop swelling. I checked some remaining buds on a plant I cut two weeks ago...still very few amber and it’s at the end of the harvest window.

Hand sanitizer works great for keeping those scissors working.
I try to have two pair, one always soaking.
You may need some bigger cutters on those branches! Try not to use your snips for the bigger ones. I broke a few pairs the first couple harvests. I hang for 7-10 days and then into brown paper bags until i can fully trim and can.
