Best strains for PTSD

Another PTSD vet,

The best I've found are high CBD strains... more of an old school "full spectrum" kind of smoke (I'm actually working to start a commercial op growing exclusively these)...

Some of the best:

Harlequin
Cream & Cheese
Blue Wade
Kosher Kush (some phenos; can range from 1:8 to 1:3 so varying ratio, I'm popping seeds and getting bud tested on my next run looking for a higher CBD pheno)

Cannatonic x *insert any normal strain here* will be the right recipe

CBD not only helps with pain/inflamation issues that most vets also have but it curbs anxiety/paranoia effects to some level and keeps you more clear headed. Harlequin based (high CBD sativa) for the daytime and heavy indica high sativa (cream & cheese) for later on.
I've heard good things about CannaTonic.

Would love to hear about your cbd commercial crop I am also starting next year with my first hectares.
I'll definitely be posting about my higher CBD ratio crop (still has THC...more of an old school "full spectrum" type of strain)... once I plant it. Right now I'm watching the seeds I just popped and hunting for the perfect pheno

First i'd like to say that PTSD is not limited to combat vets like myself. Many of us have it. The worst i've ever seen are people who have been sexually traumatized. Likewise people that grew up in stressful impoverished areas naturally have it unless they have good coping skills.

In your experience, what is the best strain for PTSD? I would assume it would be mostly Sativa based but I'm not sure. I mean something that just really melts that anger away. I was puffing a nice Purple Haze from Pacific seeds but only had a few oz. This new strain isn't really doing anything for me. I have also found that working out is a must... at least stretching and a walk. If you have any issues with Anger/PTSD or anxiety please let me know what strains you find helpful.
Navy Vet - but my PTSD came from my 1st marriage .

I've found that nearly all strains have a tolerance build-up. What absolutely destroys symptoms this week might not work at all next week.
As such, I find that having a rotation of known strain families and continued experimentation are key.

For me it's:

Kush - OG, Bubba, Hindu, Kosher, anything Kush. 2 of my bagseed strains are Kushes (according to they friend I got them from) and I have to say that after almost 2 months of smoking nothing but my own product, I have almost no tolerance to it. Kushes seem the most tolerance resistant for me.

Cookies & Cakes - Sweet strains work well, but too much and paranoia and anxiety become worse.

Blue Dream - probably the best for me, but I grow a tolerance to it very quickly.

There's others, but those are my go-to's that I'll almost always have on hand.

I stay away from Hazes & find that I have to be careful with Diesels too.

I don't really find the high cbd strains to be helpful. Blueberry, and some of the blueberry descendants (like the ever popular Blue Dream) have an amazing anti-anxiety effect, probably due to their unique terpenes. I have a neighbor with PTSD that swears by them, and also by a few Sativa landrace strains. We really don't know what is causing this anti-anxiety effect-some report they get relief from high THC strains, both sativa and indica dominant, some swear by high CBD strains, some by landrace strains. I recommend trying out each of these to find what works for you. I think it's a magical combination of terpenes that does it. Personally, I find relief from a lot of plants with the blueberry and strawberry flavors. A quality Blue Dream is a great place to start.

Totally agree - Berries (in moderation for me) are good for anxiety.
Blue Dream seems to be one of my favorites for calming down a notch or two without being spaced or asleep. I need to grow this one for sure.
I have some Blueberry in my stash. It's a HEAVY indica - very sedating & sleepy. A little goes a LONG way.
Strawberry Kush isn't as heavy, but still mostly an evening strain - although 1 bong with a cup of coffee is a perfect start to the day.

Landrace Sativas - There's a brand in dispensaries out here (Henry's, IIRC) that grows a pineapple express that knocks anxiety down hard. Very happy & clear headed.

just want to point it out that blueberry can have medium amounts of cbd along with it's high amounts of thc.
