I suspected that might have been the case when we hadn't heard from you in a spell.
Along with the airflow upgrades, you may want to look into UV light as well. I have just started looking into it for increased trichome production, but I've seen it mentioned that it is used as a PM prevention also. Just food for thought.
Offer still stands if you need something you can't get up north.

Here's an older pic of my set up before i started growing SIPS. What is circled on the very edge of the pic is a 6" rigid vent pipe that is connected to a 6" intake fan. That is where i want that mushroom filter. Could you do something like that? As far as one of those filters?
My veg cab is underneath my flowering. I use a 6" intake to pull air into the veg area, then i have two booster fans on top of a 4" filter that sits in my veg area blowing air up into my flower cab. Some ppl say you can get away with a passive intake, but I did not choose that route and have had good luck.

I could definitely do something like that. I currently have a 4" passive intake and a 6" exhaust. I was already thinking of putting some sort of HEPA filter and fan on my intake. Do you think I would need to have a 6" or could I get away with 4"

When I saw the extent on Friday I knew I had to get rid of it all. It would have sucked to get all the way to December only to realize it was all garbage. My head hasn't really been into growing once I started having these problems. It was easier to get rid of it rather than continue fighting it. There's no way I could have gotten the critical over the finish line, maybe with the cole train... I'll never know. I spent a ton on this room and light upgrades so I gotta get something out of it soon lol.

Hmm, you can't go wrong going bigger but with your set up maybe a 4" would work? I'm really feeding two cabinets with my 6" intake so even tho my flower cab is smaller than yours, I've still got the veg cab to worry about. The 4" booster fans I use are from home depot, they're meant to be used inline but you could rig one up to push air in. Personally, I would get a 6" with a speed control.
When I was building my cabinet I reached out to your fellow Canadian @GroErr through pm. He's not around here anymore but if youve never seen his set up, check his thread out. He had a really clean, slick set up. I was all set to go with a passive intake and he recommended the 6. Glad I went with the 6.

You did the right thing. When I had infected my 16 plants with pm I grew half to the end and they were all crap because I had sprayed them and did so much washing off it caused a lot damage to the flowers. They looked ok and grew a good size but it really blew the quality to pure shit in the end . After the grow I remember getting those room fuming bombs and set off a series of them to kill the PM and washed and bleached everything. Do you have your intake coming from outside or in the grow room?

I didn't clarify very well when I said UV light. I was meaning a 'big dog', fry your plant if you're not careful kinda UV light.

The people that are running this much UV can only use it like an hour per light cycle. I've read that it will even prevent pests as well as PM.
(don't quote me on any of that, YMMV.)
The way I understand it is that it does a minor amount of damage to the plant, and the plant's natural defense is to protect itself by producing more trichomes.
I definitely think that ventilation is your answer, I was just throwing the UV out as added protection.

I didn't realize I needed an intake fan for 18 square feet. How would I maintain negative pressure in the room if I had an intake fan? Right now there's enough negative pressure to suck the doors closed. I'm worried about smell leaking into the basement.

A big filter. I use a carbon phat filter with a 6 inch inline fan. For the door maybe use handles to keep it closed. handles and a lock or strong hinges ? How did yunmanage to keep the smell

Yeah I think you just need more circulation in the cab. Make sure all leaves dance and you should be good.

That’s funny, I use to have that exact same air controller years ago. It worked really well when I used inline fans that had no airflow control. Anyway your right I am totally confused by how you managed to keep your tent from not having the issue you currently have. Take care and good luck next time!

What’s up girl? I was looking back through some old pictures and found a picture of the way I had the ducting hooked up. I thought that one metal connector with 3 openings was very helpful. Maybe it could help out with the air circulation in the basement . How’s the clean up going?

Things have gotten a lot better. My basement is completely spotless, probably cleaner than it's ever been lol. I didn't realize you could exhaust multiple tents with a single inline fan.

I made a HEPA filter for my passive intake. I have to guess that's how the spores got in. The only problem is it restricted the airflow so much that air was howling around the doors when I closed them. I took your advice and bought a 4" inline fan to push through the filter and that seems to have fixed the problem. It's 215 CFM and my exhaust is 365 CFM so I still have negative pressure in the room to stop smells from escaping. I installed poles in each corner and I now have a fan for each corner of the room and I took the big 18" wall fan out.

I moved the drivers from my two DIY lights outside the room. Crazy how much of a difference that made. I did a test on the weekend and only had the exhaust fan running with all three lights on full blast and it never got over 80°. In last flower with the lights and fans all on full I was still over 80°.

I started five wedding cake seeds on Saturday and they're all up now. Buckets have fresh insulation, just need water and I'll move the plants in on Saturday.

Hi Willie,

Yup grow is moving along nicely, just starting their forth node. I usually don't post pictures while they're seedlings. I'll be topping this weekend and I'll start a new journal next week. I'm really pleased with how hearty wedding cake is 100% germination and the root growth has been explosive.

I got my new fans installed, one in each corner of the room and some regalia so fingers crossed I never see a return of the pm.
