You dont need perlite in coco. All it does is rob the roots of space to grow.

I used to bother with perlite but then I just started using straight coco. Any decent coco is already prewashed and buffered. I just rehydrate with a weak nutrient solution, put it in pots, and use it. The days of sand, trash, sticks, and rocks in coco are long gone. Some of the information that was good years ago no longer applies and people are just doing unnecessary work. Any name brand like Canna, Botanicare, etc... can be used straight out of the bag or if it's bricked then just rehydrated. No need for any additional washing.
Coco seems to still be suffering from the bad rap it had years ago. I remember rehydrating bricked coco in a large tote and having a pound of sand in the bottom. It was just nasty and needed to be thoroughly rinsed. That's all done for you these days as long as you get good coco.

Exactly. A lot of the time years ago it was processed near the sea and washed in salt water before being bagged.

So since I'm finally switching to auto water, would the larger stuff be better since it gets watered more often?

Are you talking about Coco Loco? Because I heard that’s to be treated more like a soil rather than Coco?

They're likely talking about the Cultivation Nation 70/30 that pre-bagged. 70% coco coir and 30% perlite. I had to check their website. FoxFarm has even come out with a special line of nutrients to use with it. Too funny.

Lol didn't know they had nutes for it our local store was out of everything so I had to get it. Bit more chunky than the canna and cyco

Of course they made the labels look cool. As for names it's just Grow, Micro, and Bloom. Standard 3 part naming.
I wasn't implying anything was wrong with it. I had never heard of it before so I checked it out on their website. That's where they recommend using their Cultivation Nation nutrient line. But chunkier isn't bad at all. What are they charging for those 2 cf bags? Just curious. Prices online are all over the place.

I know I think it's funny they have nutes for it is all. Didn't even know it existed until a month or so ago. It was close to 30 a bag with tax.

I don't think perlite actually puts weight on the plant (unless extensive feeding) its more for its drainage, that may or may not be suitable for you, single or multiple feeds?
I think if anything it could be beneficial for seedlings with the added drainage but I wouldn't go buying it for that reason.
For seedlings I feed the coco with canna a+b 0.8ec.
