I looked at either running photos or autos in my grow space. I ran the figures on which style has the higher yield potential over 12 months and autos won by a lot.
I have one 2.5 X 2.5 X 5 tent and one 4 X 4 X 7 tent. And I have a small proportion tent that sits on top of the 2.5 X 2.5.
If I run a photo mother in the 2.5 X 2.5 I can root the clones and move to the bigger flower tent. With a dialled in fast flowering strain I could pull a yield and every 9-10 weeks.
If I propagate auto seedlings in the clone tent then move to the 2.5 X 2.5 for 4-5 weeks then into the flower tent to finish for another 5-6 weeks I can harvest my flower tent every 5-6 weeks.
Autos win out gram to gram over photos.
I know there are other variables which apply but the theory is sound. Pretty soon I'll get a diary up so you can see my methods.
And don't bother saying something like Autos are too small or not potent I'll tell you right now that your wrong. The genetics have come a long way since the Low Ryder. The interest in autos had pushed the breeders to develop some pretty amazing auto strains that can yield heavy top shelf bud.
I've got 4 ethos Pluto Cut Autos running 6 weeks in which are showing a lot of promise.
And you can't tell me that Ethos would release anything sub par on to the market
