This is the previous plant I grew to "Fruiting" with this bagged soil.

Water only is awesome. Well with top dressing for me. I turned my original FFOF into no-till a year and a half ago. Still learning no-till, but getting better.

nice buds. I dont grow them autos. small yield. I want to veg till about 1.5 foot topped many times so 3 to 4 foot finish flower. I guess my latest experiment was taking a clone a foot take w 4 tops so it can be bigger and fuller. worked fine using big baggies as clone covers. I am in the south so no pics uncomfortable w it.

Ive never had issues with 12-12-0 sea bird guano. Used for years. Never burned as a top dress or shallow tilled in with no "mellowing" time.
However...years ago a 50# sack on the bottom of the pile got rained on and sat around till it was needed, about a month. And it was activated! Reeked like ammonia like no other hot compost ive made or seen! It was for my teas and whoa, it really boosted them. The next year, I started pouring the pellets out in a shallow tote and moistening them well to get the ammonia up for the teas. I used a sack less overall that veg time.
Now, Ive regressed and forgone AACT teas in favor of compost extracts and top dress.

Budz, can you explain upfront? as in 20/4 from beggining to end? You dont think there's a benefit to a longer dark period?
Actually I noticed a much better “ setup and rooting “ with longer cycle vs. it’s timed veg stage. Better rootmass , stronger plant ( topping ). It seems plausible to push the early 5 weeks with maximum lighting before it moves to preflower.

I play with lots of poop. Chicken, Bat, Seabirds, Worms, Insects, etc. But yes I wash my hands after, lol.

I actually have a batch of top dressing that I mixed up last Friday that's been cooking and stabilizing. I made extra this time so I'm gonna put some in an old Build a Soil bag and see how it stores. I'm making sure it's done cooking first though.

That looks like a good ammended bagged soil mix. Also noticing the uniform green . The flowering plant has plenty of healthy fans going too. What is your ph that you had to run and did exhaust. ?

Honestly, I stopped measuring my ph levels years ago. It's true that if you have an active living soil, then it will buffer itself. No exhaust fans running. Just a wall fan er 2. I run 7.5 ph tap water always. Run off is always 6-6.5

haven't phd anything in 8 years. use tap water straight now as well. used to do a bunch of hassle like leave water out a day before for whatever...lol Its a dam plant not rocket science (smile)....

I would. Don't buy frog anymore. just another step. I only use ffof from get go. If you can, get lime at home depot per my mix. go for it. keep an eye on it 1st time stress. My city water must be fine ph level and your could be different. If goes well ur good to go

Wish I had something more original to add to the thread but my mix is also just recycled FFOF. If it is straight out of the bag I add fresh EWC, perlite, and chicken manure for the larger plants. I like to layer poultry manure in the bottom of the pots along with some crushed oyster shell flour and a sprinkle of mycorrhizae before placing the root ball on top of that and filling in w/soil. For final bloom phase containers I will push in 2 Jobes AP organic spikes which are made of mostly feather meal and potash. They feed for 8 weeks.
To keep the party rocking I give a simple worm tea w/ molasses and kelp meal every few weeks along w/liquid fish if needed. One advantage I have is a worm factory 360 which makes getting high quality compost a snap. I feed the worms rotted veggies, fruit scraps, coffee grounds, eggshells, shredded junk mail, and cannabis leaves. The worm leacheate I get from the bottom spigot is like liquid gold. I add it to worm tea as it is brewing or simply dilute it in a watering can. My houseplants and cacti have existed solely on water & worm leacheate for years now; still thriving.

sounds nice but I wouldn't say that sounds simple with just the words simple in the paragraph...had to laugh. I am experimenting with Jobe organics after seeing my house plants turn very happy w some yellow tint to them suplimented w seabird guano. Otherwise my old ass calls it seabird guano and they thrive to badassness.
