the meltdown is so enjoyable right now.. As soon as they cant dictate a whole platforms outcome by massive censorship, suddenly its the biggest threat to democracy.

Funny how a week ago, the administration had the open opinion that "twitter was a private company, it can do what it wants", and almost overnight suddenly its the biggest threat to democracy and needs to be silenced. Suddenly 'private companies should never have this much reach", when that amount of reach was perfectly fine a few days ago. Don't out yourselves so quickly.

Anyone that relies on these platforms are idiots anyway. i only care what my family, friends and love ones think. No facebook, twitter or anything here, just the real world.

I think its two different points. They are a private company, they are not obligated to protect or provide freedom of speech. The second part is that they are hugely influential and have sadly become the only source of information for many people. The two don't negate each other.

Personally I don't care. I don't use them. That last paragraph is spot on. They are just companies, it is what they do.

That is why we need to get rid of the perceived authority of the person as a default "winning argument" and let the veracity of the idea itself become the determinant. That will require some evolving and a move away from political authority. It hasn't happened yet as there is an active force trying to keep people uninformed and misinformed.

Twitter and Facebook shouldn’t be aloud to be privately owned or have a sole director as Facebook has a board of directors but none have the ability to overrule zuckerburg in any decision no matter how big or how small Twitters the same no one person should have that much oversight in platforms that huge and influential

I think most people are misinformed and that critical thinking is intentionally discouraged by those who benefit from it.
That's the present, logic tells me for that to be overcome, as frustrating as it can be, better ideas must be continually presented. even when it seems that the audience isn't receptive.

I'm good for now on the robot insurance, but I'll keep you in mind. I don't wear shoes and have a thick pad on the bottoms of my feet. impervious to everything.
