What can be accomplished with a 3x3?

Would this work in a 3ft x 3ft?

local grow shop has these
The next size up should work better in a square space like your 3x3 but is a lot more money. The smaller one says it is made for vegging but the big one says does both yet both show the exact same spectral graph AND the same heat load per fixture. That seems a little sketchy.

The price up front is a main reason for me to stick to my tried and true HID lights. I could have bought 10 600W sets with ballast, bulb and reflector for the price of that 480W LED but I only bought 5. I have 4 - 400s and a 1000W MH/HPS magnetic too.

I think the smaller one is not up to snuff as it's a little underpowered to rock the big phat colas and tho the bigger one is more than double the money it'll cover that tent a lot better and it can run dimmed a lot lower much of the time than the small one could so won't be much warmer, or use a lot more power and if your buds aren't as good as you think they should be you won't be wishing you had bought the better light. :)

A little 315W CMH would rock that tent with a good bulb too for a lot less money and wouldn't be any warmer than the 480 LED running full out. I don't know if CMH ballasts can be dimmed or not. My 600s can. Getting a $50 LED veg light to go with it to use when the plants are really small would be a good idea too. Prolly both for $400. Shop for used.

Ok I've decided to re-arrange the entire room & go with a 4x4 tent. So I'll start a new thread soon :p:p:p
Arrrgghh! I just finished typing that up for the 3x3. Now you'll need that 480W for sure or bigger.

I'm looking around for a used 4x4 and LED myself but not real hard. I can build a space that size downstairs in an afternoon and wouldn't have to buy more than a few 2x4s to put up 2 walls in a corner. Use panda film as the walls instead of plywood. I bought a 10x100' roll of it last year. Wife used 40' of it to make covers with holes for her 2500 garlic crop just coming up now. Lots left.
