Tesla is about to get some very stiff competition from other automakers, everybody is going EV and battery technology is progressing in leaps and bounds and will be used by many of his competitors. Things might explode in the EV industry with the introduction of lithium sulphur batteries and new kinds of electrolytes including solid state and others I posted on today in the Junk Draw thread. You hear a lot of hype from the lab that can't translate into mass production, this stuff is being introduced this year and there have been major breakthroughs in recent months that have solved most of the major issues with these batteries. There are also many other promising battery chemistries being developed or entering manufacturing. Fast charging and 1000+ mile ranges should be easily possible along with long battery life.

So Tesla's uniqueness and edge is about to disappear, as all other automakers go EV, some with better battery technologies. If his battery giga factories can't be adapted, he will lose a fortune.

Everybody is going electric Elon and your uniqueness is gone and some will have better battery technology. Most Tesla owners don't vote for republicans and neither do most SpaceX fans.

With abortion laws in Texas, talent might be hard to find too, most are educated and with that comes brains and a broader perspective. Most young college educated women might have trouble moving to red states because of abortion laws and they usually have college educated husbands too. The Jesus types tend to steer clear of science, medical and biotech companies might have trouble in those shithole states too, as the lunatics take over.

so the Biden administration ignoring musk is some kind of plot?...maybe it's ignoring musk because his word is unreliable, his vehicles have had several safety recalls, there are serious allegations of racism and bullying at his plants, and he seems decidedly unable to focus on one venture at a time.

Well the narcist wanted fame and is getting infamy, as his true nature is slowly reveled. Others do the heavily lifting and make the breakthroughs and Elon takes credit as the genus of the century, oblivious to the wrong he is doing to others. The wise and perceptive know what he is, the naïve think he's a hero and genius. He's an actual successful variation on Trump, what Trump would like to be if he had brains and ability, which Elon does, he also has a rapidly inflating ego that is lifting his feet clear off the ground. The qualities and attitudes that lead to his success are now magnified and will consume him eventually. Elon is starting to let it all hang out and it's looking kinda ugly.
