I'm jealous seeing all the plants posted. It's like everyone is major leaguers and I'm stuck in the special olympics.
@7CardBud … Patience is key! This is just my 2nd year outside after many years being indoors and after much whining about Mother Nature’s fickle monsoon weather conditions last July (for which I was fairly admonished and humbled lol) I admit to learning a bunch! I rethought my whole approach this season. The folks in here were and are as always incredibly helpful! You got this! :bigjoint:

Yup, i learned about plastic buckets the hard way too.
I somehow got away with it the first year I grew, but that was with potting soil that was very loose. Didn’t even contemplate the difference between that stuff and actual dirt, brain was too busy getting a mental stiffie over bigger pots = bigger plants.

I’m already pre-planning next year’s fuckup, which would be to get bigger grow bags and see if they can handle garden soil as well as the two gallon ones do LOL

Couldn’t properly regulate the garden soil moisture in the Balkhi Repro 4 gallon plastic pots - I used garden soil and it is way too dense for proper drainage in pots that size. Then the soil got too warm once summer kicked in and I started seeing lower leaf die-off. Three looked like shit yesterday so I said fuck it, in the ground you go!

Last year I was able to use the same soil in 2 gallon fabric grow bags, so I figured I’d up my game with bigger pots - but didn’t consider no side aeration with plastic pots plus increased diameter would make it so hard to deal with. Live and learn!

The soil was bone dry down four inches when I dug the new holes, we are definitely in a drought - thankfully for these plants, as the last thing they need is heavy rain until they dry out…

they'll be fine... mulch that soil, believe me it's worth it. even simple grass clippings or leaves are fine and do their job.

Yeah they should bounce back now that the roots can breath. I did th throw a little cow manure and peat moss into the soil to lighten it up and give them some nutrition once they finally stop acting buttsore and feel like growing again.

And the bags dry too quickly, they need to offer a bag in a bucket.image.jpg

Whoa! Whaddafuk, P? I am having and also hearing of this issue where soil is drying out superfast, even in my fabric pots. Can't skip a day without it looking like they are in dry soil that hasn't seen water in weeks.
We have a wicked thunderstorm warning for later, but I'd drench them anyways. And as you know, this is a weed, and it has great regenerative powers. I have the utmost faith the Balkhi will do marvelous. Specially in the ground.
The only thing I do in my plastic buckets, is to add stones, from cherry to small potato sized, and not a bunch. Just enough to cover the bottom. I also use what I call a 'splash rock' on the top. Just a small, flat, orange sized rock so when I use the hose it splashes the water across the top.
Even after a thorough soaking last night, I will soak them again, before the thunderstorms ⛈ today, as they seem to not bring as much water as one would think.

Storm just swished by. Not a drop, not a puff of plant breaking breeze. Watered the chicas. Im getting to the stage where I'm so spirituality and mentally, physically attached to my plants, I have reached Paranoia Stage I.
Especially worried about Delta patch.
I'm high.
This is not helping.
It's that point where, like before, a tornado comes through, wipes out everything , and you're like, meh.
Now, I think about disasters, sheer panic.
See a bug, I wanna sacrifice that fucker to the gods, I wanna murder it so bad.
But then I remember.
The harvest will come on her own terms.
It's gonna be all right.
It's gonna be great.

I am not sure of your water situation, but you should probably give those things some more water. Also, check for stem borers. If I am having problems keeping up on watering during hot weather, I start watering heavily during the late evening ~hour or two before sunset. I also will water the plants in two or more passes to make sure they are getting completely drenched. First pass until water run off and then the second for drenching. If in 30 minutes to an hour after watering the plants are still droopy then they need more water. Hope this helps.

Compared to last year's wet weather, this year's plants are really thriving in the dry spell. Like others, I sometimes have to water more than once per day. I'm running 3x Acapulco Gold, 3x Chocolate OG, 2x White Widow, and 2x Ninja Cookies.

I do have a question for everyone. Recently, almost all of my plants seem to be showing signs of a phosphorous deficiency. I know the white widows have started their pre-flower stretch and I suspect that P demand has increased in recent weeks. I am worried, however, because a lot of the new growth is showing deficiency signs and it seems to be spreading to the upper leaves. I'm using FFOF with some Happy Frog all purpose. Im top dressing the pots every 3/4 weeks. I'm not ph'ing the water-- using straight tap, but I did conduct a slurry test and it was a tad high but within in range for soil (7-7.2). Anyone have any ideas what approach I should take?

I have a suggestion, it's a weed. Don't trip on the small shit. When theres a serious.problem, you'll know it. Great fan of the outdoor straight top water. Keep it up, looking schweet.
