This was a crazy year for chippers in my area as well. They dug up all my bean and zucchini seedlings in my grow bags. I put out covered traps but, the little sparrows and wrens were curious enough to go inside . I always try to look at the positive in things. I had a target rich environment so I dropped a piece of plywood and dumped sunflower seeds on it. The greedy little fookers would climb over their buddies' bodies to get seeds even with the pop of the pellet gun going off.My new issue this season, being a deck grow, pertains to dastardly little SOB chipmunks digging in my pots. Funny they never touched the 45 gallon pots last year. Rodents be advised… Victory shall be mine! Lol
I keep everything in my yard buckled down and have never had problems with skunks, possums, or raccoons, so live and let live. Rodents on the other hand just plain suck. They get into everything and chew, dig and destroy almost everything on a property.
