Just an ale, but I don't think SN beer does anything without over hopping it in my opinion.Does this qualify as an IPA? I recognized the brand because of this thread. I don't mind it too much. I'm getting grapefruit tones and slightly more pronounced, over driven ale taste with a bitter top end bite that sweetens the Plexi like feel.

That's good stuff. I'm very familiar with that particular brew. It's not an IPA but Sierra Nevada makes a couple really good hoppy IPA's. Torpedo IPA is really good and right now their seasonal is Celebration IPA. I just posted the Celebration.Does this qualify as an IPA? I recognized the brand because of this thread. My all time favorite. I've brewed clones of it. Wyeast 1056, Cascade hops. I think it was Pale Ale malted barley. It's been awhile but I've still got all the recipes and crap along with all the gear.Does this qualify as an IPA? I recognized the brand because of this thread. I don't mind it too much. About half the brews I’ve brewed up were a Clone of it too. Was pretty damn close. I always wanted to harvest and culture yeast from their stuff but never did. I've done that before too actually, where I harvested the yeast sediment from a six pack. Then grew more from it and used that. I only did that once though, It was much easier just to buy the 1056 which is supposedly what that yeast started as.About half the brews I’ve brewed up were a Clone of it too. Was pretty damn close. There was maybe still is, a killer brewmeister in San Jose that taught me everything. Had some killer clone recipes. Another one of my favorites was a Hoppy Face clone.
I read that it isn’t discontinued, but I haven’t been able to find their Stock Ale anywhere around here for years. I’ll get some of their Boston Lager here and there though like i did thanksgiving.I haven't had a Samuel Adam's in years.

That is one damn good ale. I've been drinking it since the 80's when they first started brewing it.
