Forums Say Soil is Best, Commercial Growing Pro's telling me Coco is best.

Add a power strip to a timer, add one small aquarium pump for every plant abd check how long it takes to saturate. Then a bit of hosing and it's done. Since you cant overwater its only slightly wasteful.
 
Coco is going to grow faster so that's my guess why big commerical growers like using it. More crops more money. Also easier to flush out if things go sideways.

That isn't going to help in terms of mixing a new res when you are on vacation, which was the issue raised.

Most people have no need for anything like that. It's not for the majority of hobby growers on the forums. I could afford it but It's not going to be any better at irrigating my plants in coco than a $60 Blumat kit does. Larger commercial operations are a different story. Most are just growing in a couple tents. I could use a 50 gallon barrel as a reservoir with a pump on the bottom to keep things stirred up and be away for weeks.
 
This discussion is the exact same as "who makes the best car?" Some people will say Honda, some will say Toyota, others will say other manufacturers and all for their own valid reasons.

For me personally, at least for now. . .. coco + bottled nutrients makes for very little to no bugs whatsoever. Perfect for indoor.

Soil + organics is great for my raised beds, i love digging into the dirt & seeing tons of creepy-crawlies. I know they're working hard & have plenty of food in there for their "colonies". Also, checking for things like ants to let me know there might be aphids somewhere that I'm not catching. The presence of bugs outside, for the most part, is totally fine; one bug or group of bugs keep another bug or group in check. I'd rather not have that shit going on inside my house though.

Sure, a couple of days is easy. But if you want to disappear for a couple of weeks, it's often a different story.

Absolutely unless your only growing say 4 plants and have a drain system that goes to the septic or outside then just use a bigger res maybe get by for a week but be hard to be gone longer than that without someone helping out.
