Ukraine strengthening defenses along Belarus border | DW news

32,508 views Apr 9, 2023 #Ukraine #Russia #Belarus
Ukraine's defense ministry says Kyiv is bolstering its defenses along its northern border with Belarus by laying thousands of anti-tank mines and digging new trenches. Over the past six months, Moscow has repeatedly increased its troop presence in the neighboring country, sparking fears of a new offensive on Kyiv from the north. When Russia invaded Ukraine in February of last year, Moscow launched its attack on Kyiv from Belarus.

They make the same kind of instruction videos for building FPV drones, and I imagine suicide versions too. How to convert a DJI drone to drop bombs and grenades with the 3D printer files link and parts list in the description would be there too. Even a low light or starlight camera would do for this application, and most can have a filter removed for better infared vision. Like Drones parts, this stuff is cheap from China and a low-level light camera can see surprisingly well in the dark. I have one on a racing quad and you can see very well in dark conditions (about $45USD), when I took the goggles off, I was shocked at how dark it was, because the image was in color. There were some lights around, but the performance of the camera was remarkable, and it wasn't even a starlight camera that is even more sensitive in the dark and about the same price.

Night vision devices for Armed Forces of Ukraine: Ivano-Frankivsk volunteers created thermal imagers

From the operator of festive events - to the inventor. Volodymyr Mussur from Ivano-Frankivsk filmed weddings for 20 years, and with the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he began to manufacture night vision devices for Ukrainian military personnel. His invention helps the military to move in a car with the headlights off in complete darkness - to be invisible to the enemy. Over the past six months, he has made and sent to the front line more than 2 thousand home-made night vision devices.

Let's see, Twitter is still banned in Russia, so why let Vlad back on to spew shit, for a rich guy Elon doesn't seem to know shit from silver. He doesn't seem to know the difference between truth and bullshit, I guess because he bullshits so much himself, kinda like Trump, not as bad, but leaning in that direction. Twitter trapped him financially and it trapped his ego even more once he got on it.

Maybe Elon wants to be to build a battery factory in Russia so he can pay them shit in funny money and achieve oligarch statues, they are short a few since they flew out windows.

I'm pretty sure a 30mm C-RAM on a 10 ton truck could do the same job much cheaper, but since they have nearly 40 of these and they work like a charm why not use them on drones and cruise missiles in Ukraine, since they are considered obsolete. I think these kind of drone defenses will be needed well behind the lines so mounting an AA system with a heavy gatling gun on a truck should do the trick at a fraction of the cost and maintenance.

Kremlin dissatisfied with consequences of war: major defeats on the front lead to military coup

928 views Apr 9, 2023 #UATV #UATV_English #UkraineNews
NATO must support Ukraine because it is in the interests of the Allies' security to demonstrate that Putin is not winning in Ukraine, Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in an interview with Radio Liberty. Russia is waiting for defeat in the aggressive war against Ukraine. All allies of Kyiv are sure of this. But the question remains: what will happen to Russia? Is a military coup possible there and are there any preconditions for it?

"Ukraine has one summer, and only one summer, to try to win this war," a former Australian military officer I met in Kyiv told me.

"After that, they cannot necessarily rely on the continued level of support from other countries that they're currently getting."

Tis a good article with a few viewpoints.

"Ian Parmeter, a research fellow at the Australian National University and former counsellor at the Australian Embassy in Moscow, says the war seems to be at a stalemate.

"Neither side can be said to be winning in terms of its current objectives; Ukraine to drive Russian forces from every inch of its territory and Russia to push Ukrainian forces out of the four oblasts or provinces in eastern Ukraine — Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson — which Russia illegally annexed last year," he says.

"I don't think President Putin has abandoned his overall objective of regime change, or 'denazification', in Ukraine, but I would say he sees that now as a longer-term goal."

Russia cannot continue to burn military resources at this rate for another year. Sanctions and lack of production components will bring Muscovy to its knees. Europe has already replaced all of russian gas and oil with other supplies and they will never go back. Russian economy is in poor shape and failing fast. Militarily Ukraine gets stronger ever day. It's more likely that russia has one and only one summer left...

If they clear the Russians from mainland Ukraine and cut off Crimea, what makes you think they will need much support after that? Vlad's offensive capabilities will be largely destroyed and by destroying rail bridges on the half dozen rail lines into Ukraine well inside Russia, they can trap them there, since they can't operate any more than 50km from their railheads. They could sit back and starve Crimea out for 5 years with the rail bridges leading into Ukraine destroyed 100km inside Russia's borders. Russia is headed for economic collapse, there are a lot of pensioners that need to be paid every month, frozen reserves that will be given to Ukraine and not much oil money coming in and they can't make that many new weapons or any modern ones.

"Moreover, a prolonged war of attrition, as with the last two years of the Korean war, would be harder on Ukrainians than it would be on Russians. That's because the US has vetoed Ukraine taking the war onto Russian territory and because of the demoralising impact of constant Russian shelling of Ukrainian cities and infrastructure."

Maybe.

Despite both sides talking of a spring offensive, Parmeter believes the pace of the war is likely to slow this year because each has been using up munitions at a fast rate.

"The US and Europe have their production of shells and other munitions geared to peace time needs and need time to ramp up production. Russian armament factories are reportedly working around the clock — including using sanctioned microchips cannibalised from western home goods that Kazakhstan imports on Russia's behalf," he says.

"Russia has reportedly reduced spending on health care and other social aspects of its budget in order to give more resources to its defence industry — a tactic that western countries obviously would not be able to emulate for political reasons. So Russia can probably rectify its munitions shortage sooner than western countries can Ukraine's. If China defies US warnings and starts to provide Russia with armaments and munitions from its own considerable stock, that will give Russia a further advantage."

There are 31 members of NATO ready to feed Ukraine's war machine. And Russia is about to find out why America doesn't have Universal Health Care, we buy weapons...The US Defense Budget is larger than Russia's entire budget...

Europe alone has committed to producing 1 million 155mm shells for Ukraine, then there is America and S Korea with vast stockpiles and manufacturing capacity. Russia has an economy the size of Argentenia's now, is under sanctions and no manufacturing base worth a fuck any more, everything was bought from the west with lots of oil money, they are like the Saudi's oil and not much else. If China arms them, they will fuck themselves and know it.

The US defence budget is just about larger than the worlds combined. But it hasnt helped win a war in some time. What was Afghanistan's defence budget?

There are more allies supplying Ukraine than NATO about 50 allies in total, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and Japan among them.
