ATF: Until recreational cannabis is federally legalized, pot users cannot own guns
In California if the police get involved in your Cannabis use for any reason and they find a firearm, the ATF will be notified. I personally know a grower that had his Cannabis farm raided by the county sheriff and when they found his legally registered pump shotgun they called ATF. He was never found guilty of any cannabis infractions but was charged with possession of a firearm and pled guilty and received 5 years probation and is now a convicted felon....be safe out there

ATF: Pot Users Can't Legally Own Firearms Regardless Of State Laws

SUNDAY, JUN 04, 2023 - 08:45 AM
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) warned in a Tuesday advisory that Minnesota residents who use marijuana cannot legally own firearms despite the recent legalization of cannabis for recreational use.

According to the St. Paul ATF office, because marijuana is still illegal at the federal level, people who smoke weed or take marijuana edibles are "still federally defined as an 'unlawful user' of a controlled substance," and are therefore "prohibited from shipping, transporting, receiving, or possessing firearms or ammunition."
"Until marijuana is legalized federally, firearms owners and possessors should be mindful that it remains federally illegal to mix marijuana with firearms and ammunition," said ATF acting special agent in charge of the of the St. Paul field division, Jeff Reed.

I never asked them if I could grow, and I'm not asking if it is ok to keep my firearms while I grow.:weed:

This might be timely for some : https://www.reuters.com/world/us/ban-marijuana-users-owning-guns-is-unconstitutional-us-judge-rules-2023-02-04/

A federal judge explains how ATF is pushing illegal laws. It needs to stop. The recent Bruen decision is making law enforcement cry because they will have to go looking for violent criminals who shoot back instead of quiet giggling pot heads.

And as far as Mr. Reed from the ATF above he may want to think about giving the official law enforcement finger to a Federal Judge. They take a dim view of that and tend to provide room and board for the overly official.

That’s a sweet piece, especially in a .38!

She currently has a 9mm S&W MP9 (Shield) which is a really nice small compact gun. But it’s complex and a bit intimidating (?) if you know what I mean? In the moment she would need this it would do more harm than good so a revolver is what she wants. Simple but effective.

Yes exactly....no safeties to mess with, just pull and shoot. I love this Smith&Wesson Model60. It came with tiny wood grips but i changed them out for Pachmayrs. Way better.

"They" can say what they want about having a semi-auto having/(needing?) 8-13-17 rounds but give me a revolver when it absolutely,
positively, no shit has to fire in a FUBAR home situation. If I need more than 5 or 6 then I better use them wisely to fight toward Plan B.

Ya the other thing that has been bothering me is the clips on the semi…I am pretty sure the springs are not intended to be compressed on a year-over-year basis whereas a revolver doesn’t come with this issue. I rotate clips but still….

A lot of debate on magazine spring compression/failure. I suspect a quality magazine/quality spring that hasn't had a jillion rounds thru it could sit for a while without failure. Although it would suck if it failed when you needed it most. :hump: Anyone ever had it happen?

My old WWII .45 mags don't feed dependably anymore. My 1911 shoots without fail with new mags, but with the old mags i get a failure every once in a while.
