The only real complaint I've heard regarding our helping Ukraine defend itself is from the military dictator who ordered Russia to invade Ukraine and found that he was unprepared for the determination of Ukraine to resist Russian occupation. For good reason too. Russia has a particularly nasty history of genocidal and other acts against humanity when they invaded Ukraine in the past and according to reliable sources are doing the same now. Everything the US has done in this conflict has been legal and supported Ukraine to defend itself from an illegal invasion.

These knaves have no idea what they are dealing with, the Ukrainians do, so do the eastern Europeans. The cause is righteous and everybody who supports Ukraine knows it, they abide by international law and the Russians do not which is why Putin is an internationally indicted war criminal and so are many in his government and military. The cause of this war is simple and straight forward, Russia tried to take over the whole country after repeatedly invading it over years and seizing its territory, breaking international law and their own treaties.

Contrary to what useful idiots and fools believe, Ukraine is winning this war and is about to win even bigger with the Russian army on the verge of collapse with rock bottom morale, logistical problems, untrained troops and dead officers. The Ukrainians have yet to engage their main striking forces and are still methodically chewing through the Russian defensive lines in several places.

Assange seems to be one of those polarizing topics.

There is a line between journalism and espionage.

I cannot find a compelling analysis that confirms that he did not cross that line, both in the way he obtained compartmented information and in the way he published it. The wiki entry is unusually vague.

If you have a link to something from a quality source that brings clarity, I’d be obliged.

Julian Assange is being persecuted for being a journalist. Nothing more and nothing less. He leaked NOTHING; Chelsea Manning has already paid for that crime and she's free.

Russia was backed into a corner. They drew a red line and the United States, knowing that it wouldn't be American lives on the line, gleefully jumped across because they wanted this war.

For those who insist that the US forced Ukraine out of Russia's sphere of influence.

I'll make this less complicated for you.

Putin chose to invade Ukraine. The people of Ukraine are willing to die in their struggle to stay free from Putin's Russia. They want nothing to do with Putin and his torture chambers. Tell me how the US forced the people of Ukraine to make this choice.

What red line? Control of another country's people? That was the point of the three day Special Operation (don't say war). Heck, they did not even pack extra fuel. Does that sound like a country backed into a corner? Then there is the dribble of weapons, do not want to cross a red line with Russia. And missiles across the border, Russia's missiles could be the same distance from the border and under a minute's distance from Kiev. Just because Russia was the head of a super power does not mean they get to decide what goes on in the countries around it forever to eternity.

The real danger of Ukraine as compared to Russia? If they joined the European Union and the Ukrainian's standard of living rockets up. How would that look to all the Baba's scraping together enough for an extra head of cabbage?

Classic authoritarian dogma. He gave an assessment of Ukraine that is in absolute contradiction of what objective facts based news outlets report without providing the confirmatory information that a reputable source would provide. "Russia can march to Kyiv today with 400,000 troops already deployed on the front lines, 350,000 in reserve and 1.3 Million about to be called up and trained. Russia has become more powerful and more formidable because of the war with Ukraine.". Oh really?

Or our own military: the Marxists have taken over. Women have no place on the battlefield because 5,000 years they did not.

The authoritarian tells people what to think. Only he knows the truth and only he has the answers.

If Russia has really gotten so powerful, why did they recently expand the age limits for the men they call up and deploy to the battlefield. Why do Urkainian troops face poorly equipped, untrained Russian soldiers using equipment made 50 years ago? It was easy for Macgregor to say what he did to a passive interviewer and in a nameless youtube account. Let's see him try the same in an interview on NPR.

Fact checking will demolish his statements. On this I'm certain.
