Would you harvest from these pictures or just keep whacking away at the rot and spraying.
What I often do in these situations is harvest a couple of the ripest colas and leave the rest, or harvest a few pieces that were partially damaged by pests or disease. I often harvest my plants over a 7 to 10 day span, taking what is being threatened, or is done, and often leaving a few small buds on the plant to see what they do if they really go a long time.

I think I'll take your and Seawood's advice and do a multi-stage harvest. I have a few colas at the top with some amber trichs. I'll take those in 5 days (if any are left).

Thanks Seawood. I'm going to have a scotch and try to settle down. I'll try to get another week, and will take the top buds first. I'll let the lowers go another week at least.
I'd take the tops and leave the lowers. I'm in the Mojave and I'm running a dehumidifier. This weather is drunk. Thankfully I grow indoors. So yeah I'd take the important stuff. You're in the window, fuck bulking if it goes to rot, you know?

Well shit :( It's over for the two indica plants, and almost three weeks early. Got up this morning and the bud rot has spread dramatically. The two sativa (Tropicana Cookies) have over a month to go and show no signs of rot so far. In an attempt to save them, The two Bling must die.

I'm going to try to save what I can and wash the unaffected remains in distilled water, hydrogen peroxide, lemon juice, and baking soda. I'll rinse in clean water and put a fan on it. Hopefully it will have some potency.

What part of the world you dwell in? Skip the lemon an soda just 1 cup 3% peroxide 3 gals of water swirl gently then a dip in clean water if theres mold spores or pm skip the rinse let that peroxide do its thing it breaks down to oxygen an pure water within a hr so no harm.

I'm on the Central Coast of CA, usually a dry climate. This year we had two tropical storms make it all the way up from Baja. In pre-flower Hilary came through with warm heavy rain and humidity. Last week we had a 90 degree rain storm with 85% RH.

I'm going back indoors next year.

Looking pretty good so far, I had to put up a trellis yesterday after some storms. I found bud rot on 3 buds so far. I just got to make it a few more weeks.

Looks great! I would guess about 2 weeks myself, but final finishing times seem to vary alot according to strain , latitude and individual pheno. And weather. The intense heat that we had seems to have sped up my finishing times a little.

That sounds impossible to deal with, we usually get no rain here from June thru most of October, sometimes we may get a shower over that time.

That sucks, man…sorry to hear. I’m in the same boat but mine aren’t far enough along to even consider harvesting. The bud rot is getting out of control. Only way to change the tides is dry weather and that ain’t happening. Better luck next year I guess…

Thanks for the sympathy Seawood. BTW, I'm writing a book..."Bud Rot: How to Turn 3 lbs of High Quality Cannabis Into 1 lbs of immature Rag Weed". :wall:

Actually, if you look at the picture of the bud, I may have been further along than I thought...At least with the clean top colas. There were a few amber tricks here and there. Everything below the equator was a complete waste.

The rot was everywhere. It almost doubled overnight. Took me 7 hours today to cut them down and inspect every inch of the plant. Probably 30% of the colas were just trashed. 20% I did some surgery on and sprayed with H202. Half were clear. I washed all of what remained in H202 and lemon juice, then rinsed with distilled water.

It's early for sure. but I'm hoping it will still be stoney. Who knows. So far, not a speck of rot on the two Tropicana Cookies. They have a month to go by the looks of it. Pray to the weed Gods for me.

Filled a small ziplock with moldy flower--even the plants I put in the shed to escape the rain and fog have botrytis popping up. Air has been so damn humid for over a week here. Sun is coming out now and drier air is supposedly on the way this afternoon which should help.

But then all hell is going to break loose on Friday night and Saturday when Lee comes barreling ashore. Talking about 70 knot (80 mph!) gusts on Penobscot Bay Saturday afternoon--I'm 4 miles inland and fairly sheltered from wind but it's going to be total mayhem. I can try to shelter the fabric pots but all the hemp in the ground is going to get hammered badly.

Time to practice some Zen breathing and detachment...all you can do is prepare as best you can and then it's out of our hands.
