Thanks Conor, I would love to run some Brazilian line for her. She loves my weed so we're good but it would be sweet to try to find something. I have asked her to bring me seeds and they are planning on heading down there soon so I would love to get some bag seeds :)
I've worked with a few Brazilian people in the past there cool people Ime there cannabis is interesting too less heard of than most which I don't think is entirely fair

Do you listen to any podcasts like the potcast for example ?some of those can be good for that as for reading jeez so much lol between here icmag and uk420 plenty there to read through online bud
Yea Ive listened to a lot of potcast on youtube and have loads of videos and channels saved. Homegrowtv has some of the best quality videos and showed this book called higher.

It goes over lineages and history of each strain has a lot in there. Id like to know about the ealier side of things as well as current and future. More stories like the chemdog one.

When I started reading up it was all the old paper catalogues I read em and read em till it stuck and I could pretty much remember most of the top of my head also any of the podcasts with Angus of RSC/Kwik seeds is always worth a listen too he has done many different ones too he knows his history and traditional strains

Off topic but I'm surprised to find you are that young . Your style and presence of mind made me think you were much older . That's a compliment !
Thanks, that's very kind of you!

Anything yall can refer to read to learn more I just dont know where to start and am a bad researcher. I have videos Ive watched but ya hard to cover them all and their history.

Most my energy is just going to making rosins and yielding more but Im still a weed dork and feel like Im missing a lot of must knows as a “weed nerd.”
Make it easy on yourself, start with your passion. You love concentrates? That's a bit out of my realm, but maybe do a quick Google the history of hash. Nepalese, Afghani, Indian, Mexican, and the more "modern" holland scene. I'm sure they all have a history with different means and methods of making their hash. Theres the origin of hash plants, where they stem from geographically, the cultures that cultivates them, and so much more. This might be a rabbit hole worth going down...

It took me asking about a good pineapple strain, which led me to pineapple fields, which led me down a rabbit hole of fruity terps, which led to blueberry (DJ short) and eventually Old timers ESB which is at fluer du mal along with... C99 which ALSO has pineapple terps, but leans sativa, kind of like Pineapple Fields. This led me to researching sativas, Haze, and now landrace/heirloom sativas. That's a heavily abbreviated map of research Ive done the last 4 years of my life, since I started growing on my own as a medical patient.

This forum, along with a handful of others, are wonderful resources. You just have to get used to fussing with the search engine until you get it's quirks.

Yea I am going down one now with breeders syndicate about hashplant and already learned tons. I spent 4.5k on the grow and projected to pay it off quick like few months.

Not that it takes that much its due to several small tents then the rosin press. Then the generator which surprisingly the cords for everything was about half that cost.

But someday Ill go down nothing but rabbit holes for fun. I used to. Heck I spend all day reading/talking about weed just need to do more reading and listening of the right content.

So much energy to get started out to where I just got. I get overwhelmed easy sometimes so im glad you say make it easy so its not just me. Im so greatful I already have a first couple strains to start. Find new at my pace.

I was lost, are you kidding a bag of seeds from Brazil? There are no Brazilian genetics from that time.
and what I meant from Manga Rosa was what if? speculation. But there are remote tribes on borders never seen before.
sorry if I'm misinterpreting.

Nah you're fine! I'd just love some of the current strains you guys have to run something she's familiar with. What I've seen looks so different from ours!

"Blueberry" is a legendary strain. I found "medical" weed that smells like blueberries, but the "skunk" that we would occasionally get from Mexico, had the blueberry undertone and a blueberry taste that would stick in your sinuses and tastebuds. I think the term "skunk" gets mis-used a lot. We called that type of weed "skunk" because it smelled so strong, but it wasn't a repugnant smell like a literal skunk. It was, in fact, a delicious blueberry flavor that had skunk-like qualities -like a smell that carried for blocks and a smell that stuck to your clothes. But, it was delicious and after you smoked it, you would smell and taste blueberries, not skunk-spray! I can say, for certain, that DJ Short's version isn't the version I'm talking about. People say skunk comes from Afghani. I dunno.....the skunk I knew was a sativa and came from Northern Mexico....and it was the blueberry skunk which was one-in-the-same.

Akbb has a sativa leaning BB that, as far as he is aware, has no relation to DJ shorts BB

Whats weird is a lot of weed smells skunky still. I used to be able to smell it but after so long smoking I never got that wiff ever again.

Just asked someone if they smell skunk in any the weed I show them they say yea. Because they dont smoke.

I like the burnt car tire comparasion, I think I got those wiffs too before I ever smoked. I did read skunk1 is why but it cant be in the strains I mentioned.

Well, maybe the term skunk applies in different ways to different regions, but I wouldn't want to smoke anything that literally tasted like a skunk's ass. The skunk we knew about tasted delicious. It did NOT make your clothes smell like blueberries. It didn't make your breath smell like blueberries and it didn't really smell like blueberries from a distance. But when you got it into your tastebuds, it def tasted like really ripe blueberries. It was known as skunk or blueberry skunk in the upper midwest circa 1975. I assumed that was what everyone was looking for....including me....but, then I've seen other people describe it as if it tasted like piss and shit, etc. Not in my experience it didn't. But, like I say, maybe the term got applied in different ways in different areas.

At one point the name skunk was applied to far too many things hence it gets super confusing from the first Mexi ghani crosses to the stuff actually named skunk or even skunky Afghani stuff the term was way over used imo

I can smell it still in alot of things and I've never had a break in a long time you get hints of it here and there as for rubber and stuff like that it's still in alot of lines of OG crosses and alot of Afghani lines too still hold that tis the full on skunk on top of skunk that seems so damn hard to find now as for skunk1 well it might not be skunky skunky but it sure has alot of different smell and taste profiles locked in it it really varies more than any other hybrid ive seen that way

It smelled like you were hiding a skunk in your backpack, but it tasted so good. It's hard to describe. If you know, you know. That is the og rks. It was sticky, dark green/purple, and stank (in a good way)

Aye there ain't no hiding that stuff tis why it's gone I think cos it defeated jars and being pre filter days it was just too stinky for it's own good I hope I'm wrong and someone whips out a fat bag of beans to prove me wrong we can always hope

Yeah, I guess I do remember some kids smelled like literal skunk back then. But that delicious flavor of that type of skunk wasn't at all the way I've seen people describe it -piss, shit, dead corpses, etc. The closest I can describe it was blueberry/incense and had a really thick "weight" to the smoke....flavor that stuck in your nose. It really is hard to describe it, exactly.....I just know when it's not around....and it's definitely not around.
