It is entirely predictable that conspiracy theories will surface around any major catastrophe or big event in world history. The larger question may be why this is so? While it is true that there have been active conspiracies behind the scenes of world history it is completely illogical to assume that every major event and every catastrophe is caused by invisible saboteurs working behind the scenes.
Sometimes bad things just happen and sometimes big events materialize for exactly the reason that is seen on the surface. Look at your own individual life for instance. The last time you had an auto accident do you think some conspirator tampered with the brakes or was it just a bad combination of events? In almost every case the bad stuff that happens to us is caused by the obvious.
Even so it is with the world. Once in a while a conspiracy may pull something off, but most of the time a natural course of events is to blame.
The tsunami was caused by a major earthquake that just happens to occur with regularity in our history.
We went to the moon because we built a Saturn rocket and blasted off not because conspirators built a Hollywood set and fooled us.
Why is it so hard to believe that 911 was caused by terrorists especially in the face of the fact that Osama Bin Laden admitted that he was the mastermind?
Then with this lasted terrorist act in London it was only days before conspiracy theories started to fly. G8 leaders (including Bush), bankers and others must have been involved.
Let's take a look at this last one. They have a tremendous amount of photographic and other hard evidence of who was involved. They have in custody a number of the perpetrators and they are talking. In the face of all this just imagine how lucky conspirators would have had to have been to pull this off.
They would have had to execute the plan so flawlessly that the press wouldn't have been able to pick up a trail. The press throughout the world hates Bush and if they could pin anything like this on him or other G8 leaders they would.
Thousands of police are investigating. Somehow the conspirators would have had to cover all their tracks so perfectly that none could follow leads to them.
They may say that those who executed the attack were lower level dupes, but so many were involved that it would only be a matter of time before someone would talk and expose the conspiracy.
Now let us get back to the question as to why conspiracy is seen in so many places?
The answer is you find what you are looking for and if you suspect a conspiracy and look for it you will find evidence.
For instance, let us suppose that you suspect your spouse is having an affair and he is completely innocent. Even though he is innocent will you still find what you are looking for? Yes, in almost every case where unreasonable suspicions arise, evidence will be found to confirm them.
So why do conspiracy people look for insidious motive under every rock?
There are several reasons why conspiracies are looked for. Here are a few:
1. The theorist likes to see himself as more intelligent than the crowd and to see beyond what appears to be obvious is one way to affirm this. The trouble is that so many people are swallowing conspiracy these days that the effect is the opposite. Today the conspiracy theorist often goes along with the crowd.
2. The theorist is often anti authority and looks for sinister motives within the powers that be.
3. The theorist is often an intellectual with good powers of observation and loves the game of using his mind to see cause beyond the obvious cause. It's a little like seeing the face of Jesus in an ink blot. It's kind of a fun intellectual exercise.
4. The theorist often has a theological belief system that needs a conspiracy involved to make all the pieces fit.
5. There is a particular person in power (like Bush or Clinton) that the theorists just hates and is happy to blame for the world's problems.
6. he theorist is often having a tough life and instead of taking responsibility for it he blames it on the bankers, politicians or whoever working behind the scenes to desecrate his life.
Most conspiracy people are barely surviving financially.
The one area where some proven conspiracy has been involved in history is assassination. Because this can be pulled off by the outward work of one person or even accomplished subtly through poisoning and other means this has been the work of conspiracy throughout history. Because an assassination can be pulled off in seconds the cover-up is much easier than an earth-shaking event such as 911.
How can we be expected to find the truth in spiritual matters if we cannot see the obvious in the events happening in the world around us? To see reality as it is, is always a good exercise of the spiritual mind in sharpening the discernment of truth.
The problem is that the conspiracy people have always looked for the problem where it is not rather than where it is. They look for it among the "flesh and blood" and blame the Jews, the bankers, Bush, Clinton, the CFR, the U.N., Communism, Bilderbergs, Rockefellers, the Illuminati, the occult, etc.
The reason that so many are accused of being dark conspirators is that the true conspiracy is a moving target and has worked to some degree through almost every organization and people in our history.
Where the conspiracy is working in the present is only clearly seen by a few. After a generation passes it is seen by the many. Then the many make the mistake of seeing evil where it is not. While the conspiracy has moved on to a new group or territory as its focus of power the masses miss this and see evil where it was in the past and miss its location in the present.
For example, the powers of "spiritual wickedness in high places" shifted its attention to Hitler and Germany in the late 1920s. From this point until the beginning of World War 2 there were only a few who saw them as a focus of evil. One of the few was Winston Churchill who received a soul impression the first time he heard Hitler's name. He sensed a great danger to the world immediately and spent seven years trying to warn the world. He was a laughing stock in Britain until Hitler invaded Poland. Then they turned to him for leadership.
Sure there were quite a few before the war who saw Hitler as a bad guy, but there were dozens of bad leaders in the world and he was no more to be feared than any of the rest, so they thought. Most leaders thought that if they dealt with him diplomatically that he could be handled and controlled.
Now a generation has passed the masses see the situation for what it really was -- that the powers of darkness did indeed work through Hitler and he was a great threat to the world just as Churchill had warned.
Now people see anything that reeks of Nazism as evil. The Aryan Nations (who have Nazi beliefs) moved their headquarters to Northern Idaho some time ago and almost everyone in the state was greatly alarmed and did everything they could to destroy the group. The group suffered harassment and lawsuits until it was destroyed financially and the compound leveled. Many thought they had destroyed a great evil.
The truth is that these people were no more a threat than some inner city gang of kids. They were not going anywhere. The true conspiracy had moved away from this failed attempt to a new one right after the war.
The new focus was on Communism, its socialistic philosophy with totalitarian implementation. This was empowered through bankers and powerful people who worked behind the scenes. The main focus was the Soviet Union but the dark energy gravitated wherever it could find a response and there were many agents of the conspiracy in the United States and Europe seeking to overthrow the free world.
Again, Winston Churchill saw the danger. It was he who coined the term "Iron Curtain" in reference to the Soviets and again he was ignored.
Another person who saw the danger was Joe McCarthy and in his attempt to expose the conspiracy he became vilified as bad or worse than Hitler. He made some mistakes, but each person he accused as being a communist conspirator turned out to be one as revealed by new records released in Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union.
There must be a dozen movies out portraying the guy as an epitome of evil, but such is the fate of one who takes on the conspiracy.
A group who saw many elements of the conspiracy was the John Birch Society. This organization was also hated just as Joe McCarthy was. I majored in political science in the sixties and the professors hated the Birchers with a passion. I worked on the university paper and everyone there made fun of the Birchers.
The truth is the Birchers were hated and received such bad press all over the nation because they obtained some insights to the conspiracy and sought to expose it.
BUT after the fall of the Berlin Wall the Dark Brothers changed their focus of attention away from Communism and toward greener pastures. After this shift occurred the powers that be no longer attacked the John Birth Society because they were no longer a threat. They were now looking for the conspiracy where it used to be rather than where it now is. Now they are often taken in and manipulated by the conspiracy.
In addition there are many break-offs of the Birchers and similar groups who still see the conspiracy as a behind the scenes Illuminati seeking a new world order. This was attempted and failed through the Soviet Union. The conspiracy has moved on.
Now the conspiracy operates through the disaffected in the Moslem world. Unlike Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union there is not a single country that we can identify and fight against, though Iran is receiving some attention. Instead the conspiracy has attached itself to many thousands of disaffected Moslems that have an amazingly similar mindset -- almost as if they all came from the same school.
Because this is where the conspiracy is, explains why Bush has encountered such great friction in fighting it. Whoever goes against it will be "hated of all nations."
If we are successful in establishing a democracy in Iraq and other Moslem nations follow its example then the conspiracy will move on. If democracy fails then the conspiracy will stay there for some time and attempt to destroy the free world.
I have followed the Conspiracy theories for over 40 years and all this time they have been predicting such a collapse within the next year or two. I'll tell you if there is a conspiracy they seem to be pretty powerless in fulfilling their word as passed down to the true believers. Conspiracy believers have been wrong on every prediction they have made for over 40 years. How much credibility do they have? How much have they proven they really know? Not much. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day and sooner or later we may have a collapse. Right now the danger is not from an Illuminati but from a government that spends like drunken sailors and a people wanting a free lunch. Such overspending is indeed a real danger. I know this is a danger but I know of no one with any credible knowledge of a shadow conspiracy that is able predict anything of note.
How many times on this list have we seen predictions of what the Conspiracy was up to and nothing happened?
Here is one of them from message http://groups.yahoo.com/group/davids_ou ... sage/20002:
"Paul Wofowitz will authorize the detonation of a nuclear payload in the Houston area on December 27, 2004. The Hidden Hand network (Mossad/al-Qaeda/SAS) of which he is the nominal controller has verified in advance every aspect of operational integrity - a failsafe job with zero chance of discovery.
"Houston has been primed for months via deliberate mismanagement, incompetence, corruption and embezzlement at its FEMA-independent Emergency Center. The police and fire services have been deliberately and systematically sabotaged and thrown into administrative chaos so as to ensure maximum fatalities in the aftermath of the detonation. However, the existence of the center will provide the Bush administration with a 'we did everything we could' excuse.
"We believe the Hidden Hand envisages the following scenario:
"1. Detonation on Dec 27 (could be delayed, but all our intercepts point to this date).
"2. The State Department blames 'al-Qaeda,' whose leaders are allegedly hiding in Iran.
"3. Iran (truthfully) denies giving refuge to said leaders.
"4. Bush issues Iran with a cowboy-style deadline for delivery of alleged leaders.
"5. Iran fails to comply because it cannot.
"6. UN convenes in emergency session - no agreement (Watch Ariel Sharon quietly flee to his private estate in Greece).
"7. Other foreign intelligence agencies dispute the State Department version.
"8. Happily for Wolfowitz, Osama bin Laden releases a videotape claiming responsibility, warning America not to attack his 'brave warriors' in Iran.
"9. American fighters launch a 'decapitation' attack on the Iranian government and alleged 'al-Qaeda' bases."
(End of quote)
I've seen many dire predictions like this over the past 45 years and none of them have come true. Think of all the false predictions around Y2K. I think if one prediction came true tomorrow I would just figure it was time for a fluke of luck.
The problem is that when there is a calamity people like the false prophet above will point the finger of blame at our own government whether it is guilty or not.
