So I topped 2 of the plants this past saturday... Do you think I could change the lights to 12/12 so I can sex them or should I wait a few days longer till the two I topped start growing again?

they are probly 5 inches tall and I cut off just above the first set of 5 leafs.

sorry dont know what fimm stand for but I took a pair of cuticle scissors and cut the stem flush with were the first two set of 5 meet.

Yea one of the plants I drilled holes all the way around the rim of the planter and the other I bent up a bunch of hooks made from old hangers and Im gona try that on the other one...

Grr so the more reading I do the more I am thinking I should have went with CFLs rather than 4' FL... what do you guys think? I have 4 4' FLs now... from what I have read it seems I would need at least 12 CFLs to equal the light I have now?

since you already have the floresants just stick with them they will work

Tonight I'm gona make a box to start the taller one on flowering... Im fresh outa herb and the quicker I cna get some the better lol!

tubes for veg are fine as long as you get a 250w hps (pefect for your closet) or a 400w pushin it but would be better

i mean look $100 bucks for a 250w hps with 33,000 lumens thats 8,250l per plant!!! and still have the tubes at on the sides of the plant but its not a cooltube just the light so a nice isolating fan would help i suggest you get the minnimun 4oz(good bud) for the price of (1 ounce shit bud or 1/4 good bud) YOU CHOOSE!!

+ 40 shipping but still it will pay for itself!!!

That is pretty much what I am going to get for my next grow... Im just unemployed at the moment...

And another thing holding me back from getting something like that is that I kinda want to get two lvls going... maybe start growing on the top shelve... and I dont see how that would work...

So I have decided Im gona buy that light you were showing me... What kind of a fan do I need? And I need to figure out how I would hang/cool/setup my closet if I did get the light... I wana have two lvls of growing... bottom for veg and clones/mom and top for flowering I guess... any ideas?

So I have been looking around on Ebay for a while now checking out all the different lights and crap... So if my closet is 2' deep 6' wide and 8' tall you think a 250w hps will be enough? also the light you showed me doesnt have inlets and outlets for a fan? does this mean it wont get hot enough to need one?? cause I can only find 400W setups with hoods that have them???

Alright so I have decided that I am going to do a little project this weekend...

I plan on building a shelve that is approx. 3' up off the ground... I will build a platform out of 2x4s and 3/4" ply wood. To support the platform I will screw 2x4 legs into the walls of the closet at the corners and in the middle of the long walls... kind of like a modular desk in the closet...

I hope that this will hold 10 2.5 gallon pots filled with soil... and if so it should hold alot of weight so I can use it for my hydro setup I am thinking of doing in the future!

Under the shelve I will still have 2' x 6' x3' of usable space to veg and grow clones and hold water for the hydro setup!

This way I should be able to have the bottom on 24/7 with the FLs and CFLs and the top will be on 12/12 with a 250w HPS.

So what do you guys think? will it hold the weight of the pots and in the future a hydro setup? Any feedback is welcome and appreciated!!!

yes your new setup plans sound good
and im also glad to hear you are going to purchase the hps yes it doesnt have any intakes or outakes becase its the cheapest bare bones 250w light you can get!!! i was taking about a nice fan to blow on your plants and a bigger fan to blow on your light i suggest you boild a tall portion on the right side of your cab about 4 feet up for a bigger fan to blow on your light so it doesnt get to warm!!! since you close it 6 wide center the light at 3 feet and 2 feet left and right for plant grow space a 250w will be fine not as good as a 400w but hay 250ws of light power is way cheaper and will give you some awesome buds go to google and search 250w hps grow im sure you will find a setup just like yours!!!!!!!!!!!

i suggest this fan for the light on a seprate hlaf wall built with 2x4s and a 10 inch sheet of ply wood on top of the 2x4s to make a "fan stand" if you get what im saying
