Ya I spent a couple hundred on my first setup, only to have it collecting dust right now :) Hydro setups are real good, if you want to put it the effort, by effort I mean: Changing res, keeping pH perfect, Keeping nutes in check, avoiding algae. It's really not all that bad once you get the hang of it. I guess I never did tho :( I like my organic soil. The slow releasing nutes, allow me to hold off on the extra nutes, till about flowering, or a little before depending on how long I veg. I find soil to be easier, and more layed back. What you get is what you put in tho :) Remember this is just my opinion :)

I moved from SD (San Diego) to Texas last summer. I like to say I'm from SD, but I'm in Texas right now.

yea Gmaccin6is right. you need the blueish colored lights. they usually come in a blue package.... but a 5500k + would work fine...

You'll need to keep adding more bulbs as this little beauty starts really developing. And remember to keep your cfl's as close as possible w/o burning it.

I was in the same "broke" boat as you. but i found a great HPS light at home depot. I had to do simple + to - wiring, but overall, it cost me about 35 bucks... and its only a 70 watt. add that with a few cfls, and mine turned out great

Honestly I was having some probs at home. Probably more of a runaway to getaway kind of thing. I'm missing SD tho. I'm also getting quite comfy over here. Decisions decisions..... I'll probably move back eventually
