well my lowryder are getting huge. Not much budding going on. Think its my bulbs. i only have 50 watts of 3000k in there now but my new bulbs come in today she assured me. called already this morning. The hempstar have gone on another spurt. I thought they were nearly done but many new forming white buds are popping up all over the place. The male lowryders are now about a foot tall and are the ugliest plants i've ever seen. I decided to tie them tight so they wouldnt take light from the females. Also cut of 75% or so of their leaves. The runt should yield about 5 grams it looks like if i had to guess. When i change the res i'll take pics of all plants. Everytime I waste more money i want to pick a bud!! But wont do it.

so i got my new bulbs. just have to wait till the place is empty to get them in. got 4 3000k. should help flowering. the room has climbed to 94 degrees. I ordered a 430hps with tube. next tuesday it comes in. 350 dollars new with the tube. not bad for in a store i think. going with the hortilux bulb. the room is way too hot to bare.

yeaupp id like a cooltube. waking up every morning at 6 to it 90 degrees until im able to open a window is quite annoying.
not to mention my room being orange!

1982 what lights are you using right now that get ya to 95?
while my hps is on it usually gets close to that while the closets closed. onced opend it goes down to about 84 and with the window open its around 76. it would be amazing to be able to have a cool tube so i can shut that shit. my eyes sometimes get used to everything being orange and once the light goes off it kinda tweaks my eyes out

which calibration fluid did you get and whats it even used for. calibrating boviously but im not quite sure what that means lol

your ph meter must be calibrated so it has something to compare to. You start with a liquid that is guaranteed a certain ph and from that it can calculate the rest. If you used you ph meter straight out of the store it would still be consistent but just not necessarily accurate. Its like a gun that hits the same spot 1 inch from the bullseye. its consistant but needs to be calibrated. looking at getting a ppm and ph meter maybe tomorrow. Hopefully both in 1 unit but dought they make them. i normally buy what they recommend. its never the most expensive and they seem to know what they are talking about. Switched bulbs last night and just overnight the buds doubled in size. instead of a total of 1 gram prob yesterday i now may have 2. Sweet!!! Better double about 200 more times. Didnt think the bulbs could actually make that much dif. In a day or so when the centre stem is covered i'll post pics. Right now they look the same but an inch or 2 taller. Bought a timer powerbar in 1 yesterday. 14 bucks at walmart. perfect for growing. 4 plugs are always on and 4 plugs are hooked up to the digital built in timer. Going to switch to 18/6 while the hempstar lights are on to save heat. Also i have def maxed the power out in my room.

The pH and PPM meter both work the same way. What 1982 is saying is correct. I'll post a picture of what i bought. You will only need to use your calibration fluid once a month, every new grow, or however often you decide to recalibrate your meter. You will stick your meter in the fluid and adjust the numbers by using a screwdriver on the back panel. It adjusts the meter so its accurate. The ppm fluid that i have is "1382 ppm" so when i stick my meter in there I adjust the screw until the digital screen says "138x10 ppm" This tells me that it is now accurate. When you buy your meter it should be already calibrated from the factory. I found that mine was deadly accurate but i would still recommend checking it to make sure. You can also buy the fluid in a small pop can sized plastic bottle down at your local hydro shop.
Yes, you can buy a pH and ppm meter that are combined. You can get one that has TDS as well. I bought my pH meter for 20 bucks and same with my ppm. I went thru http://www.eseasongear.com/

I would get a meter too, but Im gonna be done so soon, and then I will be done for a while. Im already planning my next grow(a while from now, atleast one to two grow periods), Im really considering using cfl's for my next plants!!! I have seen some amazing grow done by even amateurs with cfl lighting, and I guess the heat isnt so bad either, it will be so much easier to conceal, my gf will feel alot better about me growing!!!

i just dont like to order online to canada. most sites make it a hassle. i think theyre pretty cheap at the store. but not sure. i'll look later today or tomorrow. If they are at all expensive i wil hold off. I want the cooltube 400hps more than anything now. I would use more t5s but after thinking about it they prob would be hotter. Anything over 400 watts is prob best suited to a blow through system. The t5s dissipate heat well but 1000 watts of them would still heat the room. I do know that when i shut the hps off at 6:30 the temp goes from literally 93 to 82. So cooltube it is. Starting to think about getting 2 400s for the closet with tubes and using the t5s for veg. Also realised that growing LR in med to large setups is a pain with the males and that. Might have to switch. I want 20 females every 45 days. thats alot of work when not from clone.

thats the cooltube im getting. and i'm getting the digital ballast. at the store its 199 for the ballast. and 100 more for the cooltube. So 350 with tax and bulb. thats not bad. Also canadian dollars. Going with a 430 hortilux bulb. This should work perfect in a cabinet. I'll vent the whole cab outside andthe cooltube outside seperately. The t5s just need basic outside air circulation to stay cool. i'm going to get an airconditioner for dirt cheap out of the paper and remove the internals so i can vent through the back of it without putting a bunch of ducting pipes out the window. I cant turn the airconditioner on right now anyways. blows the circuit breaker. Plus i dont need ac as all of my heat is made by the lights. if i just vent them then the rest of the house can naturally cool my room. Its all just so much work in such a little amount of space. frustrating. wish i could order off that site but they dont send to canada.
