I carry and feel exactly the opposite. It gives me an extra option you do not possess. It's called being a realist and knowing that anything can happen, anywhere, anytime. That's what all of these stories prove over and over.

oh no i get it very much....why would a civilian need an ak though? that is about "machismo". if it wasnt you would have only a handgun no?
I'm ex-military and therefore know the value of a military style weapon. Believe me , I have a few handguns. I certainly wouldn't go out in public with my AK. I have a carry permit, but don't carry. It's just nice to know I could if I wanted. I'm not paranoid, just practical. I mean, who knows what the society is going to do, these are hard times and don't seem to be getting any better in the near future. I hope Obama can turn it around, But outside of printing money out of thin air and spreading it around, there isn't much he can do. Myself, I'd bring all the main players in this economic collapse into a stadium, give them the choice, give back all the money they stole from the economy or face the wrath of the american people by having their names and addresses posted on line at traitors.com. With no penalties imposed on anyone that wanted to take them out.

i understand exactly where your coming from i guess more the point i was trying to make(but didnt im blazed as shit) is that everyone is quick to pick up a gun nowadays. i understand protection security and all that. if i was in a different position in a different place in life i would probably have a few guns but right now i dont live with my grow, have nothing to hide and have a great deal of security where im located. i dont need a gun.....at least not yet. im just a smart ass

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not talking about gun ownership for hunting, I'm talking about home security.

I'm not talking either about owning a gun for the purpose of protecting my 7 plants either. I don't know where you've been but super wonderful happy fun time in America is over. Shit's getting more real everyday.

If the government strips us of our right to own firearms, we'll all be a bunch of sitting ducks. I don't know if you've thought this over, but when the firearm roundup happens, criminals with illegal guns won't be turning theirs over. That means criminals will have all the guns and regular citizens will just be waiting around to get robbed and shot.

I guess you'll be asking "does my blood running out of this bullet hole make my penis look small?"

surprise surprise idiots. its the same old story...big important things are going on in the country and the world and yet the media outlets bombard us with news that isnt news at all and issues that arent big storys get blown out of proportion..maybe the question we should be asking is "do these shorts make my dick look small?"...hahahahaha i kid i kid...guns are for pussys who cant stab someone up close or get in a fist fight...if your a hunter go fuck yourself and be a real hunter and use a bow and arrow. fucking pussys

more people die from alcohol related automobile accidents than by gunshot every year in america. therefore, your gun keeps you about as safe as my watch does me. the odds of your being in an alcohol related auto accident (not you drinking, someone else) far, far outweigh the odds you will ever need to use your concealed weapon to save your life or someone elses. but, do what you feel is right. i am pro gun and i would not try to tell anyone they can't carry any more than i would try to tell some Jersey douchebag with too much gell in his hair that he can't get a nice, orange, fake tan. This is america, after all.
but this is my equation:
stupid people get scared, being scared makes you feel powerless, guns make you feel powerful and therefore less scared. In conclusion: stupid, scared people carry guns.

but if the government takes away our right to bear arms, will you be able to get to the illegal gun to buy it without getting shot or robbed on the way?

In conclusion, in conclusion to what? Your circular logic?

I'll remember that next time I am accosted.... Throw the watch Luke. Use the watch. What was I thinking?

You are right of course, until you are wrong.... It's not just for my protection but also for those around me. I don't feel powerful with it. Only insecure people feel that way. Since you brought it up......(you?)

Hopefully I will NEVER have to use it, but I am a realist and know that it is a possibility, statistics aside. using your logic, you don't drive....

He's concluding his essay which he already failed because it's supposed to be 5 paragraphs. :bigjoint:
hey fuck that, i know essay form.
an essay should be like a skirt, long enough to cover the subject, yet short enough to keep it interesting.
if you read I say it's an equation, not an essay. but as far as i know, there is no mathematical symbol for stupid people. please don't poke fun. nobody said anything about your poor, OCD burdened dog. ( i also beleive dogs are sentient, by the way, mine realy likes girls) you don't gotta be mean. miss hester moffit.

I wasn't the one calling anyone stupid, that was you, all I said is that you failed the essay writing portion of the quiz. In conclusion is a phrase often used in essays during the concluding paragraph.

My dog has OCD because he sits and guards his bowl much like my neighbor in the deer stand and the guy down the street at the pond outside of town?

The whole point of that story is that there isn't much difference between dogs and people.

You keep using the word stupid yet accuse me of being mean. Smart people who want to stay alive own guns.

Remember when seconds count, the police are minutes away............

Not redcoats, black armor and masks. lol

It's a little different this time, they got bigger guns. But don't worry, if you kiss their boots you will be fine.

First they pass the gun laws, then they give people time to turn in their weapons, after that, they come around and take them, and most likely you with them as well.

That's what happened to the guy that Crocodile Dundee was based on, they passed the gun laws, he said no and they fucking shot him.

Don't think it can't happen here, we've got to fight this before it gets to that point.

sorry i was calling people stupid.
i suffer from a dichotomy of thought.
i abhore guns. i feel safe when responsible people are allowed to have them.
i wasnt calling you stupid either, CrakerJax. you sound like you have a pretty good head on your shoulders.
i was talking about santa-shooter-guy, new-york-paranoid-shooter-guy, and pensylvania-quaker-school-shooter and these cowardly shits who have recently been taking thier families with them when they decide they've had enough.
and i wasnt trying to denegrate your dog by saying he has OCD. mine dies too, but it's more of a 'when people show up i gotta drink a shit-ton of water' thing than a foodbowl thing. dogs get OCD, it's no big deal.
so, in conclusion: sorry if i offended, i didn't mean to.

None taken here Turtle, I didn't even sense that from you in your post to me.

About the dog drinking a lot of water. if it happens all the time, check him/her out for Cushings disease. It's a slow killer and one of my dogs has contracted it. It will slowly rob them of motor functions and stiffen their legs so they walk like they are on stilts. My dog started by drinking more and more water, which is the first clue. She is doing much better now that I have her on an herbal treatment, but there is no cure. Wea re simply trying to make her last years (she is 15) as comfortable as possible. before we found the herbal treatment we were getting down to the wire with her since she had a hard time standing for more than 30 secs... but it takes years to get to that stage. It can slip by unnoticed for a long time. hair loss is another sign and most folks think it is fleas or mange, but it is not. Just a thought. :peace:
