I never got one christmas present or birthday present but i always had as many toys as the other kids. My parents more than made up for it. If its the material aspect that worry people its not that bad. I used it to my advantage. If a girl knows you dont celebrate birthdays and you surprise her with a present that day and just tell her its not for her birthday its just because you like her, chicks eat that shit up.

Had some JW's come to the door yesterday. And then, when I was at my buddy's house across town... a completely DIFFERENT set knocked on his door. Was baked outta my skull for the second one.... we actually chatted with them and took the Watchtower they were shoving at us. We then sat in his room and laughed our asses off reading it. Thanks Watchtower Society for keeping stoners amused throughout the ages!

They have a plan to their canvassing. Often if you see a couple together, they aren't really "together", as well, if you see a child accompanying someone, it is not necessarily "their" child. A plan......

I know some former JWs who have told me nightmare stories about their time in the service of the Watchtower Society. They really know how to mindfuck people. For instance, their leaders have REPEATEDLY predicted the end of the world... but if you bring this up with any JW they'll deny it. Despite the records that exist in the form of newspaper archives and old written accounts, they refuse to believe their sect started as a doomsday cult that was expecting the end of the world to come at a specific date. After the third or fourth failed date of the apocalypse, Watchtower got out of predicting the exact date and started on something else.

I would have to say that the views on JW are the most skewed of any other reliegion. You people know they are Christians right? And you people realize christians(which were originally considered a cult) are just as weird right. All religion is weird,, none of it makes sense, its just blind faith. Everybody thinks that they are right but nobody can prove it, it just depends how many people you have on your side. Can you show where they predicted exact dates?

I still consider Christianity to be a cult religion....just like Islam. Our two problem religions of the world.

Coincidence?

They've done it multiple times, the most recent being 1994.
1914, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, 1975 and 1994- Jw’s: Here are other dates that the Watchtower Society predicted. 1975 looked likely as it was computed as the 6000th anniversary of the creation of Adam in the Garden of Eden in 4026 BCE. They interpreted Psalms 90:10 as defining the length of a generation to be 80 years. Since 1914 plus 80 equals 1994, they predicted Armageddon would occur around that year. The latest estimate was 6000 years after the creation of Eve, for which no date can be determined with any accuracy.

Look up the individual years for the various prophecies of Christ's return.

I know they're Christians. So are Mormons, really, but they're a radical sect like the JWs.

All organized religion is poisonous and detrimental to society, I don't try to pick on any in particular... but one that has predicted the apocalypse several times within living memory and convinced their followers that they have not done just that... deserves my special attention.

The followers of christ all thought that the 'end of days" would be in THEIR lifetimes...!! Oops, so far off by over 2000 years.

Think our latest millennium was full of apocalypse ppl? The year 2000 had NOTHING on 1000 C.E.. Society without any benefit from SCIENCE and LOGICAL thinking went practically NUTS at 1000 C.E. And yet....nothing happened.
